The Official Assassin's Creed Thread

I saw a boat in a river so I thought I'd jump over the fence and into that, to make a cool getaway. I missed the boat, and hit the river and died! :( I cannae swim! :o

LOL the most lethal assassin the world has ever known and he can't swim? Glad they thought about that one! Reminds me of the first GTAs, really spoilt the realism to have your guy fall in shallow water 1 metre from shore and die instantly, now if they'd been rivers of molten lava...

Does anyone know if you can make the game harder? Cos it's far too easy once you get the counter kill.

Not sure what to make of the game. It's getting a bit same old same. IE climb some tower, save some people, pickpocket blah blah blah.

And it's far too easy to get away once you've done your assasination.
You can change the difficulty settings within your gamer profile under game defaults, not sure if it will affect the game though is it may only be certain games that it works for.

There's no need to be able to swim in Assassin's Creed, so why waste time programming it? And if there's any doubt whether swimming is part of the game, there certainly won't be once you've tried it.

Wahay! LoveFilm are posting it today, I don't have to run out and buy it! :D

Though I might anyway, I just failed a telephone interview, I need something to make me feel better!

how on earth have you managed to get lovefilm to post a game out??? I havent had one yet, despite having things like Stranglehold on my list.

I was beginning to believe it was a big conspiracy to reel in gamers and they don't actually do games :D

I had a mail yesterday advising that boomerang have dispatched the creed so fingers crossed when i get home from work i can crack open a beer and play till the early hours :D

Two lists, one for films one for games. Move the disc allocation around as required :)

That said, I've had only Assassin's Creed and CoD4 on the game list since tuesday, with two discs allocated. And it's only a provisional allocation, so it could disappear at any time (thought that's never happened to me).

Before multiple lists I hadn't had one game from them, though.

I bought this yesterday afternoon on impulse at my local independent games store. I played for about 3 hours last night and have not got very far as I am spending all my time gawping at the scenery. No one's really posting about how gorgeous this game looks. The engine they are using is very nice, but it is the artistic implementation and level design that is incredible. The awesomely detailed vistas make it feel like you are playing in a painting. I am finding the graphics impress me even more than Crysis as there is more of an artistic style to it.

Back of the 360 box says 1080p. Back of the PS3 box says 720p.

That was the final tipping point for me getting the 360 version.

EDIT

Don't watch the comparison video if you don't want to know the spoiler btw.

Here we go again. As far as I know just about all 360 and PS3 games are 720p and just some of them can be upscaled to 1080p instead of your TV having to do it. Both the PS3 and 360 are not powerful enough to generate 1080p resolutions without having to seriously drop the graphics detail.
