Virgin Media???

Mine is Cable...if that would make a huge difference as VM are just rubbish in EVERYTHING (My own opinion) lol

Been with NTL...er...Virgin Media for years. Never had a problem with them not for Phone or TV or even Cable Broadband. In fact they have been great.

Best thing? The broadbands speeds are what they say they are!

The customer services do suck a bit but I have never had to ring them (apart from blagging a few freebies!)

Cable is generally a lot more stable than ADSL. ADSL' speed is distance dependant, where as cable' isnt.

Yep and the problem is Cable is not available as much as ADSL is. I wish I could get cable! A friend who lives a few miles away can get it but not me.

The next time you call a call centre, think before rattling away to the person on the other end of the phone. Fair enough, they're your only way of venting at the time. But I'd sooner help somebody out who was being calm about the whole thing, than somebody who was shouting the odds.

IMO, you crapped in your own nest.

Yup and now he's leaving for a worse company and hes going to probably recieve a poorer service.

:D to you

Well, after listening to some people on here regarding ADSL, I used the BT checker and it says i will get a maximum of 3mb so I have stayed with virgin and upped from 2mb to 20mb :D

i think the idea with sky is they tell you the internets free or sell it REALLY cheaply therefore average people dont care too much about the slowness

the 20mb VM should actually be a true 20mb :)

i love them for internet , just not too keen on the lack of skyone

I had 9 months of intermittent BB problems but since they cleared that up its been great, I average around 18Mb now on a 20mb connection which I'm happy with. What I'm not happy with is having an agreed discount chopped of my account and back-charged all without warning, I've had to write to them in the end as the call centre is now powerless to apply a discount which lasts more than 3 months. I'm still waiting for this months bill to see how much they have charged me this time :(

Once all the crap that is going off has settled (new job. No money and all that!) I am going from 2Mb to 20Mb.

Not at peak times it won't be! :( During real heavy periods my 2MB VM drops to around 1.2 - 1.4MB.

I wonder what happens to the 20MB connection?

Dunno. I've should get 20MB on my account by the end of the month apparently. Tell you then.

Broadband has always been decent for me. On the 8meg at the present, it only drops to 7 or so at peak times.
