I have a Silverstone TJ07 on the way, my next task is watercooling.

I have a Asus Maximus SE mobo, it has a preinstalled northbridge block. I also have OCZ FlexXLC RAM that you can watercool but it probably isn't worth the effort. has anyone done this with 4 sticks? my loop will probably be full as it is.

I am looking to cool a quad core, 8800GT, and the NB. will 1 pump be ok and what size radiator will I need?

Ideally I would like a 220 as it will fit inside but if needed I can fit a 320 rad.

Also what size tubing is the best? is there an advantage going for 1/2" tubing when the northbridge block seems so small?

Hmm, for the NB in the loop with a quad and GT then I'd probably say that you'd need a Thermochill 120.3 for best results. Either that or you could get the 120.2 for the Q and GT and run a secondary loop for the NB. Forget about the RAM, far too complicated and far too many tubes. If you want to cool the RAM more then get them little RAM fan thingies (reminds me, need to get one myself).

I am going to go for a single loop. Is it best to go 1/2 tubing and then just get an adapter for the NB? the GPU, pump and res are all 1/2 but I think the NB and rad are smaller.

sorry for being a n00b. :)

I went with 8/10mm tubing hasnt made any difference from when i used to run 1/2" except 8mm looks a lot tidier and using the compression fittings was a lot easier.

I am confused? do you mean 10mm? how many mill is 1/2 bigger i assume?

sorry but why the hell do they have to use inches. when a tube is smaller than 1 inch, this is where metric starts to come in handy.

You will def need a 120.3 rad for that.

1 pump will be enough.

If you were for have 2loops it would be better.

I'd do

loop 1 - Ysplit between CPU and ram there are ones that have a 1/2 onway and a 1/4 the other - IIRC that is what webbo is running.

Loop 2 - GPU and NB.

Because that is what it is, and how many sites name it. 1/2" is about 12.5mm ID, what i use is 8mm ID 10mm OD. Flow rate has not suffered and it is as cool as when i used 1/2".

So 8mm is 1/2" but it has a 10mm OD. LOL it is confusing, atleast for me.

Ca someone explain the various sizes? are there just 2 or 3?

If you use 3/8" tubing it will fit over 1/2" barbs with a push then it will work fine with the NB, I have the TJ07 with the Maximus SE and a Thermochill 120.3 I actually have 2 120.3 radiators but I'm only using 1 in the loop as it's plenty, I'm going to be putting the other 120.3 on E bay or something as I don't have room for it here.

For a pump the DDC is superb use with either the alphacool or Petras top and use either 3/8" or 1/2" barbs.

Hope this helps a bit :-)

Pretty much the same, Blitz Formula + 4gb OCZ flex.

Very nice W3bbo but a dual loop setup is a little extreme, it means fitting 2 rads. I know the TJ07 can handle 1 double inside at the top, I could get a triple on the top outside also. :D

But tbh I am just going to forget the RAM or at least leave it for a later project.

I am leaning towards the smaller 3/8 tubes now if they will fit the NB. I just cant see bigger tubes helping much when there are so many narrow bits.

I know people say Koolance is a rip and not that good most of the time but I really like this product.

http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?products_id=281

It is half of the drop in kit, minus the Rad which makes it cheaper and I can just buy my own rad and blocks.

I know it is a bit lame but I like how it all fits in a drive bay including the electronics.

I do feel kind of ashamed for being ripped off but it looks so nice. One thing that bugs me about watercooling is that pumps never seemed to be attacked to anything. people just dangle em anywhere. :p

I goiing to be running pretty much the same system TJ07, Maximus SE, 4x1GB ram, 8800GTX. I am using a DDC pump with an Alphacool top/res. I am running 120.3 radiator in the bottom of the case and the E6600 runs about 55c under load at 3.6GHz. Here a pic before I replaced the Commando board with the P5WDH.

When my Maximus SE is fitted with Q6600 I will lose the water cooling to HDD Using 8/10mm tubing but will be changing to Tygon 8/11.2 as the tubing is far more flexible. Just need to change the compression nuts to suit the larger tube.

Nice setup, it is good to know you can run all that on 1 pump and rad. I am not going quad for a while, probably penryn so in theory cooler but I will just clock it more. ;) and a GT should be less than a GTX.

Does the rad fit down there easily, also do you think another maybe smaller one at the top would help temps?

Theres space in the bottom for a 120.2 as well or another 120.3 if you use a regular length PSU. There 2 x 120 fans at the top so another location for rads. Penryn will run cooler still so a single 120.3 should be fine. Running separate loops for the CPU/GPU may be benificial, but mine is already as cool and quiet as I need.
