Wednesday Nights Game.- England - Croatia *SPOILERS*

On reflection we'd have probably been better off had Israel only drew with Russia, we went into tonights match with the wrong attitude.

that would be madness

Actually, i think you'll find that would be Sparta.

Anyway, just watched the game - gutted. Although they played pretty bad out there tonight. No urgency at all, it was like they didn't want to win.

When Beckham came out they were a changed side for all of 15-20 minutes, but it still seemed to me he was the only one who wanted to win. Every time i saw him he was racing around the pitch and wanting to play football.
When England got the 2nd goal they just stopped playing and hung back, it was only when Croatia got goal number 3 that England stepped up the pace.

Croatia played well though, full credit to them. They looked comfortable on the ball and controlled the game.

Bridge was the worst player tonight by far. Second that that.... the rest of the team. Only Crouch was any good. Becham did OK, but just ok, other than the cross (which was genius) he hardly got a touch.

People go on about passion and picking a manager to instil 'passion' in them usually followed by some picking some ex player who's managed for about 5 minutes as the messiah of England.

Kevin Keegan was going to bring 'passion' to the England team and he ended up being the most inept England manager (till McClown) in the last 30 years.

Shearer would be a disaster (and he knows it he'd never take it on now), Pearce the same.

Joe Cole was inept too - what he offers, I find hard to identify.

Supposably LW trickery and creativity and getting past his man. He tries it too much though. I didnt think he was that bad but in the end not enough. And who else is there for the left midfield slot?

I don't think it's a case of whether Lampard or Gerrard can play together or not, it's whether or not either should be playing at all. They're useless, particularly Gerrard in this campaign who just seems to do everything wrong.

Gerrard too has done nothing in this campaign, regardless of whether Lampard has played or not.

problem when he plays with lampard is you see him as we did at the end of the match tonight sitting deep within his own half playing the 'hollywood' through ball, which 99 times out of 100 either runs through or is intercepted.

To be fair, an international player should be able, with the time he was given, to pick out a 6'7 striker from 10 yards.

I'm afraid Beckham's re-selection in this campaign highlights the lack of quality available to England

Keegan was worse than Taylor?! Doubt it.

David Moyes? He has 0% chance of being English manager. Why? He's Scottish.

If he is elected, I will personally blow up the FA head quarters. It's like shagging your sister.
