Is this cool or sad

Whatever floats your boats. Who am I to say anyone is sad when I collect WWII military dolls. The only figure in my collection that isn't WWII is a Medicom Stormtrooper so collecting Star Wars goodies is definitely cool in my book. The figure stands out in my colection but he kind of blends in too, you do know where they got the Stormtrooper gun from don't you? :)

Agreed.

The Millennium Falcon is cool, the price (even reduced) is not and I never got the point of collecting "action figures"

I started collecting things when I first got into 3d studio and the items were bought to use as references rather than just item to sit on a shelf.

A few years ago I did some work for framestore who did all the CGI work for walking with dinosaurs and various other CGI based programs. The areas where the animators worked was fully of toys and models all used when working on the 3D graphics.

What do you actually do with it? I'm not being funny, I don't understand what one would do with a 32" replica of a spaceship which, I assume, doesn't fly nor take passengers.

In recent years I have taken to collecting various film related sculptures ranging from sideshow Lord of the rings to the star wars Gentle Giant and Master Replicas, I have now just bought one of the Master Replicas Studio scale Millennium Falcons, these things are 32 inches long and very heavy.

I remember when i was a kid, i went for a ride inside a replica Millennium Falcon at the shows. It was great...cept of course it didnt actually fly :(

I dont really have any use for it , really it was just because I wanted it, but then you could say why would anyone buy anything really if it didnt have a use, these things are selling out fast so there is 2000 people out there who just want one. 500 of these sell for far more since they are signed by Harrison Ford and I didnt see the point in paying more for an ink squiggle.

Then again I dont see the point in football but most of the nation is obsessed with that

I've got an extremely limited edition stamp collection signed by Dave Prowse. Apparently he had a few sent to him from America and he's selling them off.

Ha fair play that is cool. :)

Built your Fine Molds Falcon yet tho? I errm have not quite started yet.

I have two fine molds falcons, started building one but was keeping the second as a reference since I was going to scratch build a 32 inch falcon before getting the masters replica one and I still may have a go at it. I have a large collection of fine molds models that I need to start at some point including y wings x wings tie fighters and interceptors and boba and jango slave 1's. Think I may have gone a bit mad with getting these all things

You ALL make me want to cry for:

1) Owning this stuff
2) Not knowing the answer to the title.

Aye, FM are pretty damn good. The Tie's are a little bit annoying though because the moulding is so good it's put together in a flash! Hardly any filling or sanding, I felt a bit disappointed lol. Managed to stand on the display base to and munch it. Still I have got to finish off the ABC robot, and funnily enough today I won an original Horizon ED-209 on the bay :)

Not really sad if your into that type of thing, good on you. :) I personally could justify spending that sort of money on something that doesn't actually do anything.

You spent 850 quid on a Plastic spaceship.
It's your money & if it makes you happy then Go You.
Each to there own a
