Petrol Prices

Does it really matter? so what if it costs you more per year for living costs.

1. Get a better job
2. buy a more economic car and change your life style a bit

The only positives that come out of this is that it makes alternative technologies (fuel cells) seem more economically viable, therefore more money gets pumped into engineering this technology.

Genius, why didn't I think of that - all I need to do is get a better job. Damn, and here is me worrying about money when I just have to go and get a better job which pays lots more

It's people like you that this government love, they shaft you, but rather than fight back you pull your pants down and lube up to make it easier!

As if that's so easy to do for most people. Plus living costs are already exceedingly high in this country compared to other places in Europe, so to do what you're asking is a bit much.

Also what about the people who don't drive? Their living costs and lifestyles are also affected and can't exactly change their car when they dont have one.

Numbnuts.

Well if your realistic, fuel prices arnt going to decrease, they are going to rise and rise.

You think its better to have a dramatic increase every decade or longer, or slowly increase it allowing industry to adjust?

"so to do what you're asking is a bit much"

consider picking a smaller capacity engine on your next car purchase? use less energy in your home????

Your telling me that you have never considered doing either of these? Its pretty much common sense.

"Also what about the people who don't drive?"

The money from your fuel goes into public transport.:o

"It's people like you that this government love, they shaft you, but rather than fight back you pull your pants down and lube up to make it easier!"

- They love you too, keyboard warriors dont take drastic action and cause fuel protests, they sit in their leather chairs steaming about pointless goings on.

Love Peter Diffey xx

We're such a spineless country, if it was france they'd be in the streets protesting and causing havoc, what do we do... cough up.

I take it your not buying petrol at the moment then?

Personally I don't care, I'm not paying more than the psychologically crippling £1 per litre. At 99.9p/l its all fine :p

Nice one Pete, quote half my sentence and miss my point completely.
:o

I agree with your point on living costs being stupidly high in this country. The point is how can my house mate pay £2 for a bag of grapes when for the same price you could get 2 whole litres of petrol, which would you rather want?

I just cant believe how quickly the petrol prices have just shot up personally. It only seemed like yesterday they were around the 95p sort of area now its like £1.05. Dosent sound like a lot but sticking £20 just dosent seem to be lasting me that long anymore. IM ONLY A STUDENT FFS :p

I am passing the extra cost obnto my clients next year. I can't really see it coming down and there is another 3p worth of tax going on in April. My fuel bill is now over £150 a week.

People don't use a lot of petrol? Are you nuts, its not just the normal driver at the pump its hurts.

Its people like your self, that i hate. They keep thinking they only do about 200 miles a month so they don't care.

i do about 500 a week atm, yet am not really that bothered about the petrol prices, yes they are high but nothing worth crying about. its like these people who seem to think 5ppl discount from tescos is saying them loads of money a year. it isnt.

Also, i am quite glad that its going up, will mean those little ***** on their hair dryers or in **** boxs will struggle to pay for petrol, min 2 litre to be put in, well thats over £2 now :D

Meh its still 99.9p/ltr here.

It was up at these prices a few months ago and then it dropped back to the high eighties. Hopefully the same will happen again.

Interestingly I am using the same amount of fuel in my A3 as I used to in my swift sport. (30 quid a week on the commute) Either I must have had really heavy feet driving the swift or I am an angel in the A3 (trip averages 30-32mpg which isn't bad for a 3.2)

i was in calis on sunday, it was 112c pr ltr so roughly 76P per ltr....

Can you tell me where this was, I am pssing through france in a few weeks and need to fill up after getting off the Euro Tunnel?

I am guessing anything near the port will be expensive so wondering if there was anything just out of town, I will be going East to Dunkerque...
