What's a good case for water cooling?

Custom built granite water block mate ;)

I decided to go with a free flowing design, I find that the natural convection current of the water is plenty to provide heat dissipation.

Ah i see, I use to keep hard corals/ reef in a custom 350gallon set up with a sump. Running 2 TT marlows (one enclosed loop), including two tunze streams on surge controller on a IKS computer controlling lights and calcium reactor with pH and redox probes.

Nice rig dude. Must have got a lot of Fish Per Second with that.

Thirded :)

(sorry couldn't help myselpf :p)

Hell I wish my wiring was like that. Water temp looks about as high as mine ever goes though.

I have no idea what water temps are correct TBH, but I do know playing the crysis demo sees my OC 8800 ultra hovering around 50 deg and the E6600 @ 3.5ghz around 45 ish, so I am happy :)
Thats with a PA120.3 with DS12L Yates, and case fans all off.

Thanks for noticing the wiring, took me some time, but will have to do it again now, as new PSU is on the way

 That is awesome Vogon.....I have case-insecurity issues now!

Dang I wish they were not quite so expensive.

I have been contemplating the jump to WC too...how much work is needed to mount your rad in this case mate?

Not a lot, its why I went for that case :)

Tapped the rad holes out:

Drilled holes in the appropriate place in the case bottom, 6x 4.5mm holes for the rad, 2x 5.5 for the pump.

I have seen people mention doing it with velcro too !

velcro works for me for the pump - very stable and no vibration - in fact I cant move it.

As for the rad I mounted it on some (4) rubber furniture feet from Homebase. Lifted it just sufficiently so it lines up with the fan vents on the side of the case and of course dampered.

Works well.

Depending on the pump used ... I believe the Laing DDC will get rather hot if the bottom is blocked, I have heard of people mounting it on a gel pad and it melted it !
I used rubber grommets to isolate the bolt from the chassis and pump, and tap washers to space it to allow air underneath.
As for the rad, I used the centre sections from the neoprene fan mount isolation stuck on the underneath, but the bolts are direct with no isolation and I get no vibration :)
