250 quid is a lot of money!
How much would you be able to sell the TV for on the bay?
Only applies to distance selling where you have no chance to inspect the goods, eg online or via phone.
the amount of messing about involved with reboxing a 40" TV (along with the risk of dropping it lol), taking it all the way back to the shop and arqueing for a refund, and then waiting days for another to be delivered from online would NOT be worth £250 to me.
Pack it up the best you can so that it looks unopened and get the wife to take it back saying she bought it for he husdand but she got the wrong size, and that you have purchased a smaller unit.
just say you are not satisfied with the picture quality and take it back?
is it really worth all the hassle for £250 though? we all do it at some time or other, think we are getting a good deal and then finding it cheaper elsewhere, so why not not take it on the chin and learn from it this time?
If they dont give in though, Kick there Christmas tree down on the way out![]()
Not worth the hassle for £250?how much money do you earn?
![]()
Well she agreed to pay me back half later, plus "My Money" is "our money" ... one day you will know![]()
Ha ha, I earn more than 5 times what my missus earns. My money is generally our money but she doesn't mind me spending it.
Except when I spend over 80 grand on a new M5, that took skill to keep my danglies.
Anyways, my total household income before tax is around 150k, 250 notes is a good amount to me.
Return it to another store of the same large chain and say you were mis sold it.
Cha Ching - REFUND! (Well hello Mr. Lincoln).

HAY GUYS LOOK HOW MUCH I EARNZ LOLZ
As a rule, I NEVER buy ANYTHING from a store anymore apart from some clothes and groceries.
Reason for this is we all know, when you order something online, the prices are cheaper, you can ask people who actually know their stuff for advice (forums) in stead of idiots on the floor store.
Saturday I made the mistake of going to a large High street store and bought a new Samsung 40" HDTV. My wife woke up in the morning, after months of me pestering her about us getting a new and bigger one, she finally caved and was in the mood to go spend my money.
I happily agreed to this, since I've been wanting a new Sammy for ages now.
I knew which model line I wanted and so we went to the shop. There I made the mistake (yes it's my fault) of choosing the incorrect model of samsung.
I thought on the plackard that was in front of the TV that it had said 1080P ... but I had in fact bought a 1080i model in stead.
When we got home and set it up, we were both over the moon with the quality, however I realised my mistake when I went online (to try and find out optimal colour settings). I was also shocked to learn the model I bought, was £250 cheaper elsewhere. Now I dont mind taking a bit of a knock in the price, but that's just way too much.
I went back to the shop to explain my situation and asked for them to either prioce match me, or allow me to return the goods for a refund.
I was denied both - one because they don't price match, and the latter.... because I had opened the package!
Now I can appreciate I was in the wrong, I don't have too much of a leg to stand on... but for goodness sakes. I spent £850 on a TV I had ONE day and wanted to return.
Is there anything you can think of that might help me in this?
Many thanks!
