The hardware will remain a fixed spec. There's no need to improve it, there's the PS3 for high-graphics gaming. Perhaps better integration with PSN would be a good idea. If it could download and play games similar to Xbox live arcade games then it would be good in the casual games market. If they are going to release the console AGAIN so they can squeeze another 5 years out of it, they should improve it a lot in both hardware and software. Maybe if they start more Wii kinda games with PSmotes and fun games then they have a chance. Perhaps you can sign into the PSNetwork thingy?
Hmm, no point in going back to old PS2 games to improve their graphics. The type of people they are now aiming the PS2 at don't particularly care about graphics.Personally they should work on the PS3 and PS2 games and improve textures, graphics etc
There not changing the physical size of the Slimline ps2. It's going to be exactly the same aesthetic but lighter and with the power supply inbuilt.

Wii is said to be on par with the original Xbox
Generate new interest and at the same time increase profit.
The Wii is around twice as powerful as the old Xbox, 3 times as powerful as the PS2.
Its on par with the original xbox minus the ability to use shaders.
Incorrect, the Gymecube was on part with the xbox, and the Wii is about twice as powerful as the gc.
The ArtX GPU can also do shaders
I don't think someone that wants to buy a HD PS3 would be happy with a PS2...I may be mistaken but the PS2 is still selling very very well. Do you think it is not only hurting MS/Nintendo but their own sales of the PS3?
Through emulation which kills performance.
The PS3 continues to stagnate until people see a reason to buy one or it gets cheaper, and as such the PS2 remains a steady seller. Sony are cashing in on that to help profits while their main console continues to do nothing for them.Whats the point of it exactly?
What record is that? The PS2 has long since outsold the NES.Wow, the PS2 just keeps going, doesn't it?
I wonder if it'll ever beat the NES/Famicon's record.![]()

As for the Wii vs Xbox1: The Xbox1 was more powerful than the GC. Not by a huge amount. The Wii is litterally an overclocked (by 50%) GC. This combined with over double the ram of the GC makes it more powerful/capable (in some ways) than the Xbox1. However, the end result is the Wii is not vastly better than the Xbox1.
