Whos ditching 8800 GT for new rev GTS?

You always win easyrider have you any stories of how you you lost out or messed up big time ?

Nah sell it and get the GTS when it's out then buy one again when you can get it for £100 as a backup lol.

You must be loaded to refere to the 8800GT as a 'cheap' backup card? :)

Compared to you possibly, compared to Bill Gates no :)

I think the GT is a cheap card. How much have people lost on graphic cards over the years?

X1800XT to X1900XT within a 3 month period

While the GT will drop in price the loss will be small compared to a £450 Ultra!

Yes but those inno 3ds and xfx vanilla are going to be worth £110 when it comes to selling on as by that time they will be £130 brand new.

well i know what my plan is hehe will lose around £14 but gain £40 back in the end.

Cool! :)

[edit] I just gotta smile at certain people who refere to nVidia amazing 8800GT as a cheap card useful for backup purposes, i mean could you poo poo on it anymore? I'm suprised those people even have the card still in their rigs, probably better used to wipe their behinds with lol! :D

Strange turn of events i have just passed crysis gpu benchmark at 721/1806/2000 only thing i have changed was my cpu from 3.2 ghz to 3.4ghz no idea why suddenly my bfg is clocking nicely oh i also uninstalled ati tool.

The difference between 700/1728/900 and 721/1806/2000 is a massive 3.44 fps wow and i have upped my cpu looks like the g92 overclocks gain little increase to me.

Play Time: 59.80s, Average FPS: 33.44
Min FPS: 22.72 at frame 160, Max FPS: 38.71 at frame 1018
Average Tri/Sec: -31107440, Tri/Frame: -930155
Recorded/Played Tris ratio: -0.99
TimeDemo Play Ended, (4 Runs Performed)

Press any key to continue . . .

And i doubt the GTS will make any significant increase either in Crysis. I think I may keep my GT for now.

When a proper next gen card comes out (or dual gpu), people will lose a lot more on there GTS's than people do on there GT's, and no other games make my GT sweat.

Yea hardly seems worth even overclocking these going to test this card at stock bet it's still 30 fps average on the benchmmark.

There pretty good stock performers, no doubt about it! I suppose it may be worth it if you are trying to meet a certain FPS at a certain setting.

I remember playing Far Cry on a P4/Radeon 9800 Pro, I found a nice balance of settings but the minimum/average frame rate was 'just' a bit sluggish for my tastes so did a little overclocking of both the CPU and GPU and combined they netted me an extra 10fps which was enough to make the game smooth.

Need to overclock basis only you could say! ;)
