*Unreal Tournament III*Thread :o) Game Pics & Performance.

Bought this game yesturday after hearing its decent reviews etc. However, my pc spec isn't the greatest but i was hoping that it would run slightly better than it does (AMD64 3700+ @ 2.8ghz, 2GB RAM, x1950 pro 512mb, clean XP)

Got the post filtering on the lowest, 1280x1024, 75% screen rendering, and the two graphics options below set to 2 out of 5. No aa or af using cat 7.11. The game runs at around 35fps most of the time, but stutters like mad at the start. The game also looks so awful at low settings. It looks worst than UT2003 did on the same settings!

Any suggestions as to tips or tweaks? At the moment its pretty much unplayable.

Also check Tweak Guides as one poster already mentioned.

mine arrived today and is sat at home until i get home from work. i remember seeing a video once of some guy doing all the dodge jumps and double wall jumps and all sorts, like a tutorial showing his key presses and stuff. even with all that i could never really do it :D

This game runs suprisingly well on my comp at lower settings etc. I currently have a 3200 + 64, gig of ram and a 6800 GS
Still, can't wait for a upgrade for all its glory.

People still do all the crazy jumping in this UT, its really hard when you first start playing....

Just do NOT bunny hop (jumpjump jumpjump), it makes you a sitting duck.

Think about as running like a crab --> you kinda run sideways the whole time double tapping that direction, and flicking your wrist/mouse in the direction... "throwing yourself" into the direction you are running.

Look at my vid i posted above ( http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v422/sup3rc0w/?action=view&current=GFXglitch.flv )
I do it a little bit as I get to the node area after I have fallen off the board and picked it up and got off again. It's not the best example, but you can see what I mean by flicking the mouse.

Can anyone tell me if the key is tied to your login in UT3? If you were to sell the game on the buyer wouldnt have to use your login would they? I'm presuming not but you never know.

I'm really not that impressed with it, its my first pc game since spending MANY years playing Q3 and as much as I want to like it I just cant get into it, I dont think I have the interest for pc gaming anymore.

Anyone know of a fix to keep the FOV changes?

I like to play fov 110, but it doesnt stay when you die and have to keep constantly pulling down the console to change it doh

Hi, just got this game. I played for 10 mins and out of a sudden the game locks up and had to reboot pc. Any idea? Other games are fine, just UT3.

Yup same here. What operating system you on?. I'm using Vista 64 Ultimate. I have tried everything and the freezing just wont go away, it happens in shanglira, gateway and torlan and maybe a few other maps. I haven't tried every map yet since the freezing is very anoying and sometimes i have to do a hard reboot. I haven't played the game much since i got it on friday :(. All my other games are fine, this is really the only game i've had problems with under vista so far.

Whos playing on Vista 64 without any problems?. On the epic forums, some people have said that going back to XP sorted the problem, but i rather stay with Vista 64 as i have 4gigs of ram. I'm using 2 x 8800GTX's, Q6600, 4gigs, EVGA 680I and the beta 169.09 drivers. Also my resolution is 1920x1200.

I don't know what else to do. I think the only option is to wait for the offical patch. I was going to go back to XP and see if it's any different, but even if i did, theres people with the same problem on XP on the epic forum. I don't know why epic realsed the game early if there problems like this :/

I just hope they fix it quick :(.

Oh yes, dont let me forget to say
"Pickup the soap bitches!"

Is it just me that always hears "Enemy dog walker, by the red base".. Like in crysis how the reloading koreans always go "Bill Oddie"

I never really played 2k4 enough to get familiar with more than a couple of maps. It's even harder now

Had about another hour at this yesterday. Some of the maps are confusing as hell when you are not used to them. Mind you, the gameplay itself can be a bit confusing.

Had a go at warfare, and had no bloody idea what I was supposed to be doing. Eventaully just started following peole around killing people on opposing team, as did not know what was supposed to do with the orbs and stuff.

The pace is just so frantic. Weaposn take a hell of a lot to get used to. Most of them are all just very slow, so its a case of getting the hang of leading your target. Except for sniper rifle type things - though people move so fast, and maps (that I have seen) do not offer a lot of room for their use, that I find them unusable.

All in all, once I get used to it, I think it could be fun. Though I am kind of thinking that I still prefer ET:QW. Just like the open environments, and the slightly less frantic pace.

That CTF map wth the multiple vertical levels you have to go down around and up, and the 'nanoblack' in between the flags... arggh. Played that yesterday. Confusing :s

Have you played the single player? It explains what you do and starts off on the simple maps :). You can play the single player at a much slower pace if you want because the bots are as hard / easy as you want them to be. Unfortunately your team is permanently stupid ;). Although there is that 'multiplayer' campaign thing which I haven't tried.
