UEFA Midweek Football 27-29th November **Spoilers**

hasn't ronaldo last year, last two years played left and right wing. sometimes his speed is more effective on the left, sometimes on the right. sometimes it just throws the opposition off.

i'm sure plenty of games last year giggs and him would switch over several times in loads of games. sometimes you get an incredibly fast left back and you just want ronaldo to trash a slower right back, why not. frankly, he's good enough to play left, right, upfront or through the middle.

Ronaldo CAN play both sides, but I don't think you'd find a single Man Utd fan who would say he's as effective (or close to being) on the left as he is on the right. He's still a fantastic left winger, but he's the worlds best right winger so it makes no sense to move him out of position so often, at least for someone like Nani.

I think he's damn good on either flank and we generate a lot of extra threat if the wingers inter-change positions....Nani is not as bad as you are stating, if and I'm you sure you do have visited many of the utd forums you'll find the general consensus is that he is preferable over Giggs as of late.

To be fair Nani did have a dire game today but this season he has already scored some vital goals and set up even more, so I don't quite understand you when you say he has been the most disapointing signing, maybe you expected another Ronaldo.

Evra is and has been our player of the season this year, Carrick has been dreadful but he looked slighlty better in the second half, damn he needs to impose himself on games because at the moment a young 19 year old Brazilian is showing him up. Veloso also domianated our 3 man midfield today in the first half, he looks handy and at 21 years old and desparate to join Utd he'd be a good buy. Should we buy him? Maybe not first I'd like to see us off load Fletcher who again looked awful we REALLY need another striker in january, Saha looked disinterested again today.

He has a decent cross on him, but that's about it. He can't beat people, nor can he interchange quick passes or spot the killer pass (such as Anderson, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Ronaldo, Tevez or Rooney).
Yes he was disappointing tonight, as he was against them last time around. And Bolton at the weekend. His inability to deliver anything was shown up further with the introduction of Giggs and Tevez, both of whom performed the job Nani was set to do brilliantly and had us completely dominate the 2nd half.

What I did expect when we signed him was someone who would be able to do all the basics of football brilliantly as well as something extra, but he continually proves himself as being quite weak at basics. He has had a couple of good games (and a good pre-season), but since the season started he has no will, passion or heart for beating someone incase he gets hurt... of course, this is when he can be bothered doing anything. He should be busting a gut to prove himself (like Anderson does) but instead he will happily plod along trying to make himself look good in the attacks but stand around on defence.

As I've said, Nani offers a great outlet in terms of crosses (when he doesn't have to beat someone) and he takes a tasty corner, but tbh, I was expecting a lot, LOT more from a £17m 'wonderkid'.

Giggs helped change the game imo, he really was a few steps up from Nani just coming on - last night also showed to me why Fletcher should really only be a sub rather than starter in these games, he was just nowhere

Carrick on the other hand is pretty darn good, he has a decent tackle, cna find the killer pass to open play up and really attacks the opposition's box

Liverpool fans, my brain isn't working, if you win tonight then it's still in your hands i've got that much. if you draw or lose however is it still mathematically possible for you to go through? if so what combination of results would it take?

If we win both our games we're through unless we only beat Marseille 1-0 and then Marseille could go through on goal difference (not going to happen after the 8-0 though (Marseille would have to beat Besiktas by at least 7 goals to make it possible)).

If we draw then we can still go through as long as Marseille don't win in Turkey and we then beat Marseille.

If we lose we would then need Besiktas to beat Marseille and then Besiktas to not win vs Porto in there last game.

oh right, so essentially whatever happens you are still potentially in it but in reality lose and you are pretty much stuffed.

Relying on other results is never a good thing of course, and both teams that are to be played need to win the game against you or face being knocked out themselves) which makes it trickier still

Liverpool should do it (famous last words)

Yes. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll make it into a decent player, but I wouldn't be against loaning him out somewhere in Europe.

don't spoil i it, i quite enjoy when you go mental at one of fergies recent signings. it's usually a good indicator they'll turn into a class act next month.

Nani does have some off games - just like Ronaldo did when he first arrived (even though I know Ron was younger) but he also plays some blinders and has a EPL Goal of the Season contender, so dont knock him too badly

I can remember him having 1 solid game (Middlesbrough). He had a poor performance against Tottenham glossed over by a winning goal.

DanH84 is right though, I do get the best out of players. All of them apart from Saha.

Liverpool team:

Reina
Finnan Carragher Hyypia Arbeloa
Benayoun Mascherano Gerrard Babel
Voronin Torres

Not a bad looking side, suprised Babel's started and would have rather Crouch played rather than Voronin.

Shame for Crouch :( With the form hes had, I would have thought he would have had a start.

I like it when he plays with Torres on the odd occasion.

Argh I'm an idiot. I told the missus I'd take her out for dinner, I'm going to have to take her to Wetherspoons so I can keep a furtive eye on the game.
