Hi, could anyone recommend a good silencer for this hard drive, as I am thinking of ordering one but I have heard they are quite noisy,
thanks.
 
Silentmaxx are pretty good, I have 2 x 36gb Raptors in these and barely hear them and as far as I'm aware the 74gb versions are quieter than mine :)
 
Before you spend a fair bit of money on a high-end hard drive silencer, try rubber grommets out first. You could always get a proper hard drive silencer later if you're not satisfied with the noise levels.

Going to give the rubber grommets a go, myself...:)

I have 2 Raptors in a Lian Li PC Case, and they are almost silent, I have 1 Raptor in a cheaper Antec PC Case, and it makes quite a racket, so it seems that the PC Case you use seems to have quite a bearing on how much noise they make...even when working correctly...:)
