Reinstalled Wow! ;o

WoW isn't addicting i played for a few months and stopped due to boredom.

Just because you didnt find it addictive doesnt mean others didnt. The addiction stopped with Burning Crusade. when i first hit 60 with my mage i was addicted to Arcane Power Spec for a few months before going to Rank 13 (old PVP system was boss no RvR crap).

I started about 3-4 months after the Beta of WoW.

my hunter hit 60, was chuffed to bits, then they released Burning Crusade and the level cap went to 70... thats when i lost interest! lol i still hadnt been to all the WoW vanilla dungeons and then a whole new level appears!... very frustrating! lol

finally got round to reinstalling it on my laptop! and paid for a month, currently at work so i have to wait till i get home to check to see what my account has on it! lol

if i was to start a new character, what class/race would you spec? i quite like taking on multiple targets and dont really like sitting around! something with high crits etc, ranged or melee, doesnt really bother me. but deffo dont fancy being a pally! eww!

I've started to play a lot more recently, since the new arena season has just arrived.

I am determined to get into the top 5 and remain there for the end of the season so I qualify for the finals at Blizzcon. We got to rank 2 in the battlegroup last season but didn't maintain it or get to 1 because of inactivity.

Generic Anti Wow Response!

Addicted blah no life blah quit now blah save yourself blah

i have a wife and kids blah full time job blah good life blah casually play blah

so ****** boring. seriously.

The problem with WoW is that there is no point to it all. I just don't feel motivated to grind if there is no benefit at the end. PvE really isn't fun, there is no challenge really. The AI is scripted and it is generally easy if you know what needs to be done and have enough/right people.

The PvP is pointless also. You win, you get points, you spend em, you win, you get points and you spend em. Now that is ok for a game like CS:S where the actual fighting requires some skill but WoW isn't that skillful so what are you doing really?

I prefer MMOs where your actions have an impact on the world. I ant to own and defend areas and land, choose the people I fight, (not gay RVR). I wanna mobsteal, I wanna smacktalk the other faction etc etc.

But WoW is still fun for a while but it lacks longterm objectives.

I hope AoC is good....

If you want people to keep their opinions to themselves about your exploits, dont post them on a forum.

That said, tell me what my opinion is. Please, read my post, and tell me what my outlook on WoW is :)

You cant, because all i posted was a mickey take out of all the people who replied so far. On the one hand, you have all the people saying "omg quit you're addicted its for losers" and on the other hand, you have everyone else saying "i play and i work full time and have wife and kids".

that is all. I'm not sure what you took offence from but here's a tip: Read Posts Properly Before Starting Arguments. Hope that's cleared up for you :)

good point, my missus keeps saying that too me.... ahem

Yeah, they always say that.

Incidentally, I have 3 lvl 70's and raid regularly. Just getting back into the swing of it!

God, I'm sick of people saying WoW PvP takes no skill. Go and play arena at high level and tell it takes no skill. Ask the professional arena teams and they'll tell you it takes immense skill, awareness and co-ordination to compete at the higher levels.

As for it being pointless, it's fun, and you get a sense of achievement.

You could apply what you said to any game. Half Life 2, there's no point, you just shoot people, move to next level, shoot people, move to next level. There's no point.

okok its not if its good or bad!!.... who cares! ppl that play it like it so thats that!

read post #43!!

they dooo but i find them boring to the max! any other advice?!

Advice on what exactly?

Paladins are boring if you're expecting 'big crits' and being able to do lots of damage. You have to remember that a paladin is a hybrid class.

I carry 3 sets of gear at all times. A melee DPS set, a tanking set and a healing set. Tanking can be immense fun in 10 or 25 man raids, and paladins are immense healers. It all depends on what you want to do. Hunters\Rogues\Mages might be able to do big crits but I find them boring. As I can tank 1 week, heal the next then DPS (lol :p) the week after that.

i suppose i have never got high enough to really experience a decent pala... dont you find it irritating having to change your equip all the time? and like, space consuming!!?

Play a druid. 4 complete sets of gear is a serious space consumer.

Well I agree and disagree. If you have a good balanced team that are reasonably well skilled then the team with the best team work will always win regardless of skill. 1v1 or 2v2 then pvp is pointless imo all depends on the class, luck, with a bit of skill. You could never tell me a rogue could beat an equally spec'd paladin the majority of the time, just wont happen.

I used to love WSG and AB in a decent team, but team work is where its at, small groups suck.

I agree to some extent, WoW requires more twitch based skill than most, you move with WASD rather than with the mouse. You have skills that can only be used at certain times such as after a crit, As a warrior I have skills such as pummel that stop a caster from casting but it isn't exactly UT3. But I have to admit quite fun for a while.

But it is the lack of depth that is the killer for me. When you get better you can't lose it, there is no risk and other than increasing your stats you can't gain anything. no buildings to capture and defend, you can't even chose your side or who you fight. The clan doesn't have any assets, the only reason to be in a clan is to raid it seems. It really is carebear central. :p
