Polo is a good shout - VW are doing some amazing deals on the 1.2 E model at the moment, £10k could see you in an 07 plater..

Thats the beauty of it, you get the sportiness of 1200cc, the bonus of low insurance, the prestige VW badge, and an 07 plate, all for your budget.

£10000 jesus christ

i could think of 10000 other things i rather spend the money on then a polo

Maybe you would, but what else gives you a prestige badge like VW on an 07 plate with a powerful 1200cc engine all for just £10000? As Oblivious says, anything bigger is a waste as you cant use the power legally anyway.

The 1.25 Ghia Fiesta I used to drive was well nippy, the handling is on par with my Lotus. Why don't you consider those?

If you aren't too bothered about size, a quick look at the VW Fox might be a good idea. All the prestige of a fox (or ceiling fox depending on your flavour) with none of the BMWness.

What about Astras? Just had a quick look at Seat Leons too, but I think Mr Insurance will come along and slap a big fat No on them

Are you trying to purchase the automotive equivilent of some beige slacks? Becuase you are going the right way about it.

Ask Phate about how great spending vast amounts of cash on middle of the road companycar fodder with 1.6 litre engines is.

He will tell you it was a daft idea :p

Anyway, im gonna go on a few test drives next week, and have a good think me thinks

Exactly no point 'upgrading' from the Mini to some of the bland junk you've come up with in this thread so far. I mean a Vauxhall Astra? What are you trying to do, convey the image of being a printer repair tech?

Can you not just live with your mini for a few years, a car is a car and you have a great car, do you really need to change it , would you not get bored after a year of having a different car.

I have been driving boring cars for years and tbh its never bothered my, a car is a car and you either NEED a nice big enigie head turner or a car that you can drive and don't mind driving I am slowly building up my insurance, I don't see the need to get enjoyment from driving yet, might get an RS 4 Avant next year for work and pleasure :D
