Hey all, i bought my ps3 off MM and it is as follows:

UK ps3 60gb, fully boxed with the pad etc
HMDI cable, and dvi to HDMI adaptor
Genji, Motorstorm, Resistance, Assassains creed. All mint cond.
Casino Royale, Click, Terminator2, black hawk down bluray.
I also have the recepit from a well known online retailer.

Now, what you guys reckon this is worth on the bay?? (will use dads account and he has details so cannot search for completed listings) Like many wii owners im planning on selling then rebuying when they are back in stock.

I paid 310 inc recorded delivery for all the above minus the DVI to HDMI adapter and assassains creed. Fact is a I barely use the ps3, but should I keep the things I want to keep (casino royale and black hawk. term2 is rubbish it isnt even the extended edition!) Assassains creed cost only 18quid as I had tesco staff discount and clubcard vouchers:) what you guys think??

thanks

I personally think keep it. It depends what you want from the console.

E.g, do you have a 360? Are there games due out soon on the ps3 which you will want to play? Are you playing it at all?

You won't get a huge profit putting it on the bay, due to stocks of PS3's being quite high. You can walk into most retailers and pick them up.

With the wii's though, only a very small profit will be made, if any at all.

60gb consoles probably wont come back into stock. They are discontinued. If you're happy paying for a 40gb or a 80gb on release, then go for it.

As for keeping things, If you think you'd buy them in the future, then I'd keep them now, because you'll be loosing a profit for everything you need to buy back.

ahhh ok. seems the general impression is that if you hate your ps3 the now is a good time to sell it:) thanks for the quick replies

EDIT: any ideas on the 80gb price?? everything i buy will be from tesco as 10% staff discount

im not sure what its worth on the bay but i dont think you'll get much more then you paid (if thats your plan), PS3's, although the 60gb supply is running out, i dont think are in such a high demand as you can still get the 40gb from almost anywhere that sells them... also the games you do have other then assasins creed are all release titles so they are available cheap.

it depends on yourself though in the end if you dont use it and dont see any reason to hold onto it why keep it??? but... if you plan you purchase one at a later date and would like backwards compatability then the 60gb model may just go up a bit more if they dont release the 80gb across here.

i wouldnt use mine much if i never had the backwards compatability as the misses has just got into singstar and until the ps3 ones out (friday) she'd have nothing to do... i might be able to get on assasins creed and fifa myself though

Id keep it mate tbh, the 80Gbs are probably gonna be expensive anyway! & you wouldnt want to be landed with the 40Gb as you would have lost the PS2 compatability as well as the other stuff (if you use it that is!).

60gig ps3's are going for £500 to £550 atm, deffo worth it if your not wanting anymore, or sell it buy a 40gig and pocket £200/£250

i cant see you selling a ps3 to make a profit on really. if that is your sole reason for sale, making a profit, then i wouldnt sell it.

sell it, get a 40GB and with what's left, get a bigger hard drive and a couple of games. sorted

got to say, I'm loving the PS3 right now. can't wait til I can actually afford to buy one!

True, if you wanted to buy an 80Gb you would make little/no profit and youd have to wait a while as there isnt even a release date confirmed yet. If you wanted a 40Gb then you would probably save about £200. So really depends on you whether being without your PS3/lack of the added features is worth it to you.

if you ain't bothered about backward compatibility and loosing 2 USB ports + 20gb og HDD space you might as well get a 40gb version next year when more games come out your looking for. Get some of your wedge back for Xmas......

60gb UK console seems to be in demand on auctions sites.

I dunno if you have a 360 but if you do then keep the PS3.

Only console I have sold was my PSP because there were no games for it or any decent ones looking like they were going to come. This was 3 years ago btw. Part of me was annoyed because you're losing something. That's why I can't sell my Wii. Sure I don't play it much and I would probably make a profit selling it. But there's some quality titles here and more coming so I might as well just keep it.
