Ideas to keep Cat out of xmass tree please

if you have xmas lights watch that the cat don't chew the bulbs or wires, we cannot have any lights around the windows because of this and luckily we found this out last year whilst lights was off and wouldn't switch on!

I have a similar problem this year but it's my youngest that will be pulling everything off of the tree once it's up. He's only 10 months but has been walking a month so is a confident walker now and able to reach the tree.

I've heard that cats don't like orange peel. Could try hanging some near/on the tree? Just tell the kids not to eat it.

I let the cats do pretty much what they want...if they want to climb christmas tree I'll let them...after all it's what they do. Don't want a kitten running and climbing around, buy a brick.

Probably why they're so happy. Not locked in either.

Doesn't work, we put up a chrimbo tree two years ago and it came down after a week due to the dog eating all of the decorations..

This year we also have two 6 month old cats...

No tree we think.

BTW, a "real" fir tree we had last year didn't get attacked by the dog.

Try Olbas oil on the tree, they hate the smell of it.

last year we had 4 young cats to contend with:eek: the best thing is to spray the cat with water every time they go near it. Of course when you're out they will climb up it and you will have to redecorate it every day:D
