Lian-Li V2000+ or Silverstone TJ07

Apart from being cheaper and bigger and possibly better for water cooling is the Lian-Li a clear winner?

Or are the sultry looks of the TJ07 more appealing?

Thoughts?

I'm a Lian Li guy personally.

Not a fan of the way you can fit a rad in the Silverstone, i like to have it bolted in.

I think its more personall.
They are both awsome cases with great features

have you though about the Lian Li PC-A70B?

Ummm .. you can bolt it in the silverstone too ;)
The LL is cheaper .... unless you add a windowed side panel, in which case its around the same.
Having not seen the LL in the flesh, I couldn't comment on it, but I am more than happy with my TJ07 :)

Hi, I might be biased, as I've one sitting in the boot of my car, but I think the A71 is a better prospect for water cooling. It will easily fit a 120-3 in the roof and there is plenty of space to fit another rad, res and pump...

I have but I prefer silver cases to black ones, how much are they?

How much of the bottom of the case do you have to remove to fit a PA120.3 in there?

How much did it cost?

None ... well, the HDD bays need unscrewing, but then you just add some 5.25 to 3.5 adaptors to fit the HDD(s) in the ample space in the 5.25 area :)

I thought there was a plate in the bottom of the TJ07 which holds the HDD bays?

Or do you just sit the rad on top of this?

Hi, well here's proof a 120-3 fits in my PC-A71A:

It's made for it and I have still got 7 hard drive bays free...

That looks great, have you got the performance shroud on there as well?

I'm guessing that PC-G70, PC-A70 and the PC-A71 all share the same top layout?

Your pictures are basically what my system is, using my old PC-70 but my barbs are positioned at the front.

Lian-li do seem to have changed the layout to fit a 120.3 rad placement perfectly though.

hmm...

OKay then, a quick addition to the shootout.

PC-V2000+ - massive case with possibility of 2x 120.3's £152
Or
Silverstone TJ07 - Yummy looks but very expensive for its size £200
Or
PC-G70 - Redesigned internals - Bargain price but basically the same as pc70 £117
Or
PC-A70 - Redesigned internal, improved hard drive bays £164
Or
PC-A71 - Redesigned internal, improved hard drive bays + Door £???

Hi DeadMan, yes it's about the same just that I prefered the layout of the PC-A71 as there seems to be more room. And yes, the performance shroud is on there as well, door yes, hinges either way...

Performance shroud is a bit surplus to requirements from what I understand, not sure its worth the money ? Even Macci notes it makes very little difference.
I don't have it, and have good temps and low noise with Yate Loon DSL low speeds @ 7-8v.

TBH when I was shortlisting, it came down to the LL G70 or the TJ07 for me, the fact I didn't have to cut the Silverstone was a plus.
If I move the pump, there is room for a PA120.2 in addition to the PA120.3 at the bottom, and for a thiner 120.2 rad, like a black ice or similar, were the fans are mounted at the top, without resorting to a jigsaw.
Granted it cost more, but a windowed panel on the LL will add £30 if you want one, at £196 mine came with windowed panel, you can get them without for £180.
You have probably seen my pics above your post in the cases gallery, so I wont add them here :)

At the end of the day, all great cases, just depends on personal preference and how much modification you want to do :)
I dont think you would be dissapointed with any of them.

That looks very tidy, im beginning to think this design will be hard to beat.

How did you cut the 120mm holes in the top of the case? I had quite a bit of trouble myself getting it looking neat.

I think I am down to 3 now:

TJ07 - £180 £200 with window (yum)
PC-V2000 £152 £??? with window
PC-G70 £117 £??? with window

I have dropped the A70 and A71 simply as the internals that I liked are also in the G70.

Personally I don't like cutting brand new cases so the TJ07 is still in there

dead easy to watercool a tj07, you have the meshed parts at the bottom where you can stand a 120.3, or maybe even 2.

don't doubt the lian li is a good case as I've had exclusively lian li for years but you have to cut them which isn't for everyone.

Hi, actually there is plenty of room to mount a rad at the bottom of a A71 without having to cut anything and you can retain the hard drives as well. Then you just mount the PSU at the top of the case....
