The 'teg is back :D :D :D

I think you are being far too soft on powerstation just because they are powerstation.

Not atall. I did have a bit of a 'discussion' with them about the price being higher than expected, but when they originally gave me an estimate they didn't know they would have to faff about with the cam-timing so much, I don't think they realised the car had non-standard cams and vernier pullys.

Yes it took a while and yes it's a shame about being down on power, but at the end of the day they have done the job I asked them to do: Rebuilt the top end.

I'm certainly not trying to make excuses for them just because they are Powerstation, I'm just telling it how it is.

But in hindsight yes, I probably should have taken it to a Honda specialist in the first place.

Great to hear it's back Ben.

As for a specialist, I recommend these guys:

http://www.performance-autoworks.co.uk/index.php

My car won't go elsewhere now, top guys and know their stuff.

If you do give them a call, ask for Rich :)

Neil.

Not doubting their ability but i'm a bit dubious about performance autoworks. Guy seems perfectly genuine and that, but I remember a guy I talk to from an owners club, spent in the region of 10-12k on tuning the same car as mine, with internal mods such as BC cams, pullies, springs, retainers etc, all mapped on Autronic

It turned up and couldn't even idle properly, and didn't make much over standard on the rollers I believe.

Again, this isn't my beef, but if I spent 10-12k on tuning my car, i'd expect a lot more than a few HP and idling problems! Thats enough money for two drive-in-drive-out supercharger installs!

P.S Glad to hear its up and running again DreX - now get it tuned properly! :D

Just drove it to work in the dry for the first time, and it's just awesome :D

It may be just a placebo, but it feels noticeably quicker than the SiR, despite making similar power at the moment. Could be down to the shorter gearing and extra torque of the 2.0 bottom end.

Handling is sublime. It has pretty much identical characteristics to the SiR but it all happens at a higher speed due to the extra grip, and with less bodyroll. I was actually expecting it to be a bit 'snappier' than the SiR due to being lower and stiffer, but if anything it's actually more progressive. Seem to get more feedback through the wheel too, and you can feel the LSD working better.

The brakes are ******* incredible

Can't wait to get this thing on track :D:cool:

I bet the breaks do feel awesome, mine only has uprated disks and pads and it still stops fantastically with very little fade.

I need to crack on with mine, I haven't touched it for weeks, Christmas has financially broken me though :(

I'm glad you're pleased with it now you can drive it properly :)

Brakes shocked me more than the handling/go tbh

Organs vs Brembos = Ultimate Death :D

Glad you're driving her like you're meant to m8, that's why I wanted you to have it tbh ;)

And when the tuning is done

Theres no way id take a car to powerstation for work to be done after things i hear people saying about them.

The cam timing is out
Its mapped for the cams but mapping is now out because the cams arent set up right

and yet your still giving it beans on way to work etc etc

Poor teg :(

I wonder why you havent posted this up on the DC2 site? I know what they'd say about it......

a) there is no perfect cam timing, it can be a tuning function to shift a torque curve about, but that may reduce peak hp which i suppose people in the pub may not think is good.

b) who cares what they think on a forum.

Why 'poor teg'? It's not as if the map is so out that it's doing damage, it's not running lean or detonating or anything. It's just less than ideal with regards to the power it's producing, but it's pulling smoothly and there aren't any flat spots. Christ, if I wasn't given any figures I wouldn't know anything was 'wrong', it's running fine.

Indeed.

EDIT: Pics will come when there is a break in the weather and I get a chance to wash the thing :D
