I don't like it's retroness, just think it's innovative, represents a maker actually trying to be different and have new ideas, as opposed to just filing out the usual generics strats/lp wannabes..
 
I think the linkage to the pic didn't work originally, there was "I love retrojunk" picture redirector instead. I fixed it

well that picture looks a bit nicer, the finish is quite classy, and I guess it looks ok, but, well like I said I am actually considering one now.

So you should be. Striking looks, unbeatable range of availible tones, options with the trem, channel switching at the press of a button (Its awesome plugging into two amps and playing through both, one or the other if you have one set up one clean and the other dirty without having to fiddle around), an awesome neck, thinner than Kate Moss, twice as sexy, and weights 4.5 pounds!

Appologise in advance to your wallet though.

how much does that one cost?

I think the flat top parkers look cheap.
 
Have you ever thought about making your own guitar from scratch??

There are plenty of books and guides around that go into all the detail you need. This way you can build a body and neck in whatever shape you want, plus you get to take some pride in it, to say you literally built it, and give it an awesome name :D (It's all about the naming!!!) lol

As you said you've been playing for a long time and used/owned many diff guitars so the electronics of it shouldnt be a problem for you. by now i'd expect you probably know what kind of sound/pickups/POTs you like or prefere and also what kind of wood's you like more than others, which ones you like the tone of etc :)

there arn't any rules that say it has to be a knock of, you can make literally any shape you want???

I was asuming you meant one of those pre-made strat replacement bodies you just attatch a custom neck and hardware to.

I'd look to make a guitar from scratch, but I'm not sure if I could make a neck very well, but i'll love to sculpt my own body and headstock, no idea where you'd start though.

No edit, official picture from steinbergerworld. That guy wouldn't look half silly with Gibson semi acoustic or Rickenbacker. It's not the guy that's out of place, it's the guitar he picked for his fifties look.

Btw, there was a good reason why Eddie used Steinberger for some of his trickery - tremolo system allows bending full chords in tune...

the guitar looks great in that pic imo, If i wore that guitar wearing my usual clothes ie jeans/top, it would look great :)

Steinberger cool? Whatever next, MC Hammer pants and Jane Fonda stockings making it back to highstreet stores? (Some more grumping, grumping grumps).
 
I think you need to stop conforming to the norm. to me cool is about being different and with that means not everyone will agree with your opinions, I don't me cool as in ladies will like me if i wear this guitar etc..
