Was in Hitchin just now dropping off an instrument for servicing and next to the wind music shop there's a band shop (stocking guitars, drums etc).

Could hear that someone was trying out a kit and wasn't sounding all that bad, but outside the shop there were chavs standing there shouting really horrible abuse - "you're ****!" etc. I just though it was disgusting and surely they have better things to be doing than shouting at shops?!

With all due respect, there are far worse things to be worrying about than a few people shouting obscenities.

Their is but whether you do anything about it is a differant story. They should be fined for disturbing the peace. no one likes an attitude like that.

I would prefer immagrants that have more manners than yobs. In my opinion keep all the immigrants that are working and send all these chavs to poland. They wont be any the wiser.

Well, if a police officer told them to move along and they persisted, then fair enough.

They will persist, in my area all chavs have an attitude with the fuzz. I remember in work we had a bobby come in to tells our staff about driving safety (was pretty good as he was a nice bloke) shown us some videos on how chavs reacted to them, throwing stones at fire trucks and police cars.

Then I'd be happy for the police to use necessary force to apprehend them.

They're jealous they don't have any talents so they try and put other people down

Hate chavs though, no point in their existence. Only people they're good to is people like Reebok, Nike, Addidas.

XD

So we should let this kind of social behaviour slide? Things have become so bad that, now, this kinda thing should just be accepted?

So the level of social patience regarding this behaviour just gets higher and higher until the entire country is one big steaming sewer. Sorry, but that's just not the right attitude to have.

If you ignore them, they'll get tired of it. I don't think simply swearing alone is a punishable crime. Although the government will do things like revoke your travel pass if you swear on public transport.

If every other person on the street was shouting abuse, then perhaps your comment would be valid. But things like muggings are a far more serious problem.

Should've told them to get up and have a go if they thought he was ****.

I've had that live, don't put up with it.

And the word chav is for a chav dressing, chav acting, chav drinking person. Doesn't matter if they come from a posh family or whatever you like they're fitting into that disgusting stereotype.

No, it is.

Breach of public order act, like breaking the peace.

The ironic thing is that I work with some of the worst juvenile offenders in the country who have to be locked up.
Its amazing that none of them think they are chavs.
