yes its curious....

We happily display anguish, suffering, death and destruction of life at any time on our television sets.....

but a natural expression of love? only after 9pm.

Theres a reason for this but i'll wait to see if anyone else mentions it.

We as a society yes but me personally no. I find it quite disturbing the amount of this sort of thing we are willing to subject people to without any kind of warning.

yep , i agree. We have the technology to do it but do we realize what it does to us?

In a way we have the power to turn ourselves into monsters (if we have not already done so)

A reason for the watershed or for not showing a natural expression of love (which may be rather different to just showing boobs)? If the former then as I understand it the reasoning was that on the basis of a report in the late 50s it was decided that most children would not be watching TV after 9pm so therefore more adult/mature content would be acceptable.

Perhaps. However, even if there were no religion in the world there would still be censorship and rightly so. To think there is only censorship in our society becuase of pressure from religious groups is overly simplistic.

Back to the OP though I think not showing this sort of thing before 9 is acceptable. I also think there is a lot of other stuff that shouldn't be shown before 9 that is. I am far from a prude by the way, I just think there is a time and the place. After all if you want to look at boobies the internet is a wonderful thing

Not too keen on censorship either, but the problem with nudity on TV (like with most other taboo subjects) is, where do you draw the line?

Think about it, unless everyone suddenly stops wearing clothes, when else would one be nude? If it becomes acceptable to show womens' breasts on day time tv, this would naturally lead to the question, "why not just show them completely nude?". Now in mosts cases, a nude person will be in the process of some sort of sexual activity so do we then start showing that too?

The reason for not showing nudity on daytime tv, is because it reflects the society we live in (or supposed to be living in). Sex, imho should stay behind closed doors in privacy; feel free to debate this but remember to clean up the worms afterwards.

We do have a Chanel called SBS.

Some of the Movies you get on that at night are just :eek:

They are normally Asian or European imported movies

Its also got Lots of sexual TV shows aswell, Such as one called Erotic Tales

Other TV stations are a bit more Prudish. The Adults only episode Big Brother got axed down here

Tis really the only BB which is watchable and now its gone
