8800GTS 512MB Ramblings Thread

If waiting an extra day makes people depresses, does that mean the forums will loose a load of members due to suicide when the price is relealved to be atleast £250....

I am trying to decide between gts (g92) sli or gtx sli (the OCUK version) - i want to only game at native res for a 24 inch monitor and i know the additional ram of the gtx might help. Any thoughts from anybody?

Waiting for next gen isn't an option as i have 6800gt and it's AGP but have new 680i on way.

Why does it bother you? you already made it clear your not budging from your GTX.

it was only £240 for the weekend special.

The price looked like it changed early this afternoon, but whatever. May as well spend £30 extra and get a branded with 3 years warranty (if you were still after a GTX).

If that is the case... then they will end up with too much stock, which would mean that they have to drop the price, which would be good for us who are too incompetent to cut our wrists :D

Hmmm I already have a GT and I want a card that can run crysis 50fps which I doubt the GTS 512can do, must wait til feb!

haha

some many people on here dont seem to see that comming

you know given the inflated prices of the GT, retailers will be selling these at £250 +

Its obvious now that some are going to be selling for 200 quid, if I was not tight on cash I would have got one of these as it would only cost 30 - 50 quid to upgrade.

my thoughts are sli is generally regarded as pants so gets the best single card you can ?

I know that most people regard it as pants, but I'm doing it anyway;)

I've never run a multi-gpu system and i want to tinker with it since i am getting an sli capable mobo.

well i dashed home opened e-mail there was and order dispatched title only thing is, it was for something else / damn it / maybe the 11th then ..............

Here's a review made today on the 8800GTS 512MB, its about on par with a GTX when overclocked to 720gpu and 2100mem, it beats the GTX in most games but by a small margin with no AA/AF, with AA/AF they are about on par, this review states that the 8800GTS clocks about the same as a GT, i am sure there are better clockers out there though. So in summary, the GTS is a great card if you are after an upgrade from anything but a GTX or GT.;)

I'm happy if thats the performance. :)

speaking as an owner of an X1900 card, this should make a decent upgrade considering how much my poor card flags in Crysis.
