8800GTS 512MB Ramblings Thread

Anyone else notice the remarkable resemblance to the legionhardware results?

I thought it had 16 ROPs, anyone clear this up?
 
Pricing really needs to be sorted out now.

With the GT/New GTS/GTX all within a few frames per second of each other, but with still quite large price differences, something has to give.

If I didn't have a GT already and was looking for a new card it would have to be the GTS I think.

An after market cooler for a GT, like the S1, is 20 quid and because the GT clocks so well its a crime to run them at stock.

Making the GTS with the dual slot cooler a good buy imo.
 
If they are £200, then it'd be worth it over a GT at current prices for the extra SP's I think. The dual slot cooler I can take or leave, as I don't have any problems with the ones on the GT.

If GT's go back to £150/160, then it's less clear.

Compared to a £270 GTX though, the GTS is an easy winner.

As already said, good card the GTS, just not worth moving from a GT or GTX to it.

EDIT: £12 for a pizza! I make my own - wish I could do the same with Graphics Cards!!

I agree not worth moving unless you can get 180ish for your GT.

I make my own but last night I was hungover and in need of some grease!
 
I reckon the GT 512MB will be put to rest now and the GTS will become Nvidia's new mid/highend card, the 256MB will compete at the lower end which is amazing really as that card is just as powerful as a 512MB GT except of course the for the lower vram, i am not bothered by the fact i got myself a GT and now this new GTS is out in such a short time span, its great to have all this performance for the amount of cash were handing over.

Thats right there is always something new around the corner.

The GT is a great card.And TBH I only got one cause I got a good price for my GT.
