The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Don't suppose anyone can hook me up with 4 "Arbalest" Heavy Missile Launchers can they please? Managed to snag 3 recently but since then I haven't been able to find any for about the same price.... I don't have the skills nor the ship to venture out into low-sec space yet, I'm just trying to assemble my Drake in readiness for cruising through some missions and making myself some ISK.

Been salvaging and mission running like a madman over the past few days - so got some ISK waiting.

(also 3 Core Defence Field Purger rigs would be nice too)

EDIT: Need 4 Arbies now, just snagged 1 off the market

lulz, begging for the lose. If you can't afford Arbies then use lesser named or t1 mods. If you can't afford purger rigs then do level 2 missions to grind the isk where you won't need the rigs.

I'm not begging, I wasn't asking to be given them - I was simply asking whether anyone with connections who fancied doing a relative newbie whos been playing less than 3 weeks a favour (possibly an alien concept to you) could help by doing them for me at a price that isn't as high as the market rate, but still enables them to turn a profit.

If you find that concept "lulz" worthy then that says more about you than me I'm afraid.
 
I can help u out durzel, i have 1 arby heavy in my invent i know that much but then you'd probably need to trek half the universe to find me. I know one isn't going to be much help, but i wouldn't mind buying the rest. We can sort something out when i get back from work though, no eve at work i'm afraid. Where are u based, btw? Anywhere near Jita?

I don't think they'll be making any navy/fleet issue tier 3 BS any time soon, purely based on the fact u can only buy 1 navy/fleet variant of the frigates and cruisers as it is anyway.

I don't have any of the other stuff I need for the Drake yet, it's totally bare at the moment. I was able to buy it largely from a "welcome to the game" donation from a friend, and the rest of what I've earnt has come through running missions, some mining (Kernite mmmm) and salvaging. My plan is to outfit it as I go along, whilst training up skills necessary to fly it effectively... I like having something to aim for and a new ship seems like as good an objective as any.

I'm pretty much based right out of Jita - I'm always within a few jumps of it due to mission running, even if it is so laggy!

:rolleyes: I've helped many players out from these forums, I think its hilarious that you're asking for help fitting your ship with the best named modules available on the market, when stuff 10x cheaper does the job.

Also, seeing as 'arbalest' heavys are named mods, they only drop from NPCs, so nobody is going to turn a profit by supplying them to you below market value.

Considering you've got your drake via 'handouts from a friend' and now want to fit it with top mods via 'donations'. I think that says more about you.

I'll testify to that. JC helped me on my first night back into Eve. He gave me some cash, helped me pick a ship and outfit it and has helped me with advice since. But i've been making my own way since then and it's a lot more fun. If all you want is to jump into a top class ship go screw around on the test server.

The games all about getting there yourself, and putting the effort in. If everybody gave you all you needed, you'd be bored out your mind.
 
JC needs some love.

And you guys are right, the struggle to getting where you want is more fun than to be given it. But who said i was donating anything? i'm expecting to be repaid of course. A helping hand is also nice, besides u can't deny that the harsh learning curve of eve is quite towering to most, i know it was for me.
 
This is one of the reasons I never joined a corps.

Feels more fulfilling to have "done it on my own".
8 months old and in an Abaddon (all be it very badly fitted at the moment)
Skills coming along nicely too. :D

Well exactly. Just to say again for the cheap seats - I wasn't asking to be given them for nothing, I was simply enquiring about whether anyone could supply me with them for less - so stop with the "handouts" crap please. Any discount would be nice, and if everyone were to say "sorry mate everyone has to pay the same price corp or not" then so be it - I've learnt a lesson about the game that I didn't already know. I know it's a handy straw man to keep talking about it like I was asking for "freebies", "donations" or "handouts", but that's not the case I'm afraid.

I think it's a pretty disgusting attitude to have to call out people who are self-confessed newbies with comments like "lulz" and "begging for the lose", I don't care how many people you've helped. Sorry that we're not all as knowledgeable about the game as you are. Sorry not everyone knows that module X or weapon Y drops of mob Z only, that comes with the territory of being a newbie I'm afraid.
 
I don't want to offend anyone in the thread - including JC - so if it's the case that these things can't be sold for less than what they go for on the market, then so be it - I can accept that. I don't want to get into a big argument about this.

Secondly I've worked my ass off the past 3 weeks running missions & mining constantly to save up the money for these things.

Hi all

Im thinking of starting eve, ill be a light casual player so say only be playing about 30mins to a couple hours max a day. Ill give the trial ago, is the tutorial really good, will i learn a good lot on how to play it.
