Ebay Watch Help Please - Ive been conned

Send an email to ebay showing what you have found. His account will probably be closed down and you wont have to pay any such fees.

Just be glad you received that email from that kind guy before you paid £1200. Id rather send him the £34 fees that the nob that is selling fakes

(ive bought a north face mcmudo jacket in the past and paid paypal) I got the money back in the end but it took quite a while and me digging up loads of evidence that it was a fake)

The reason guys like this stay in business is because people are silly enough to part with £1000+ pounds on a whim, and haven't properly researched things before jumping in head first. If everyone who bought off him slowed down a bit and checked the finer details of his sales, he wouldn't be in business.

It wasn't some dude selling a fake rolex for £20 on a street in Spain - It was over a grand, and you didn't even check the face design was correct ???? People like this on Ebay annoy me - just slightly more than people who buy off them & then complain.....

Nuff said.

I cant believe you would buy a £1200 watch off ebay without papers and not compare this watch with a proper 1. I say pay him the £34 as stupid tax and consider you've got a bargain lesson

Got to agree with this.

Lesson learned I would say!

why should he pay anything?

the seller is a conman

He explains why he thinks he should pay.... as a 'stupid tax'.

He was clearly joking, but his point was quite obvious.....he was suggesting that the OP deserves to be 'charged' something for being so stupid, so that hopefully he'll learn a lesson and that if he did have to pay £38 'stupdity tax', then he should look back on it as getting off lightly.

He wasn't specifically suggesting that the conman deserves to profit.

I'll edit his post to be a bit closer to the point I'm sure he was trying to make ;)

I'm sure you get the idea :)

He wasn't specifically suggesting that the conman deserves to profit. Maybe he shouldn't have said 'I say pay him...' and should have just said, 'I say pay the £38 to charity and think of it as a 'stupid tax'.

I'm sure you get the idea :)

He's paying the dude that pointed it out some beer tokens. I'd say that covers it :)

I wouldn't pay £12 for such an ugly watch let alone 1.2k

But hey each to their own, I hope everything works out right for you dude.

This is the internet. Subtle nuances of humour are hard to get across, maybe I should use more :)

You have included 999 images in your message. You are limited to using 10 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

I think I may have overdone it

There should be a smiley for sarcasm.

I love all the posts that say "I don't see a difference".

That's the trick. To the average Joe, any fake/replica watch (even a bad one like this) looks like a real one. It's only the people who know what they're looking at that will be able to spot it. That particular one (in the auction) is probably worth about $70 USD if you were to buy it shipped from the far east.

Well ebay hasn't replied to my email yet and i now have negative feedback, but the guy has stopped emailing me now.

The ignore him idea worked.

I bought my missus a watch for this Christmas off a shop on ebay, it was only £130 but i STILL went to the manufactures website and other online shops to check it was genuine as it had quite a large discount on it.
Went back through months of feedback too.

The only UK shipping option for a £1200 item was Ist class recorded. That has an insurance of £32

If he was kosher it would be Special Delivery, insured for the full amount.

Unless he's dim.
