Looking around, Im wondering if its PCIe 2.0? Seems to be P35 boards lagging next to Easy's x38.
Lagging? those scores are pretty uber?

Maybe leaping to conclusions re the PCI-E 2.0 is a bit premature? I'm sure there are plenty of other variables. . .

Easy's at 800/1950/2200
17443, SM2 7267, SM3 6935, CPU 6347

Mine 850/2125/2200
17478 SM2 7398, SM3 6909, CPU 6193

Another P35 850/2125/2200
17922 SM2 7428, SM3 6883, CPU 7245
The X38 platform scores an extra 26 points in the SM3 tests? Is that a lot extra?

Have you tried running the test at the same exact clock? Maybe yours is too high and some weird throttling is occurring somewhere?

Spent way too much time studying results over the years, I'm fairly good at estimating the results. I didnt say it was a lot in the grand scheme of things, a few hundred points. But to my mind the x38 score is ahead of P35 at the same clocks. Take a look through the HWBOT results, thats a really nice SM3 Easy has, better than a QX9650@4350, ram at 775MHz and the core is 850/2125Mhz. A few points either way sure, but there looks like more to it than variation. At 800/2000Mhz I would expect to see SM3 around 6750 with a +4Ghz quad. Personally I just like to know why is all, one possible differance between the P35 to X38 that might apply is the revised PCIe bus.

Mine 800/2000/2200 17055 SM2 7138, SM3 6749, CPU 6207

I'm really interested in this too as I was nearly all set on the IP35-Pro but now I'm not so sure as my next card will be GTS or GTX in January. X38 or P35!!!. I'll ask that question before I order but the thing that puts me off X38 is that X48 is out very soon.

Oh and nice work with the card. Love the brutality you show when you overclock at as it shows you understand that you can be harsh with hardware as long as you're not stupid :). Takes a lot of time off the "tip toe" overclocking style.

Are you thinking about X38 or X48 yourself?.

Well it's a £150 chipset so you would really hope there was something better about it, however are we talking about 1fps or 2 fps difference here?

I have to see pictures or a graph to really get the gist of what you are saying.

That's good, I suppose Sir Isaac Newton felt the same way when he saw apples falling to the ground.

Easy score is unusually high, i get 300 less points with higher clocks.

With the GT's, Fornowagain,Asguard and I were very close in 3D06, but the differnce in score was refliected in outr slightly different clocks.

Thanks easy, got a problem though.

I found it, opened it with notepad and added the line but it wont let me save it, says

Cannot create the C:\Program Files\RivaTuner v2.06\RivaTuner.cfg file.

Make sure the path and file name are correct. Huh??

Ah thanks mate, working now.

Now to overclock, any suggestions for a 1st attempt? stock air cooling

Will the overclock only still work while rivatuner is running? If so ill make it go to system tray.

I went straight in at 750/1945/2100

I put the fan on 75% just to gauge temps.

What make is the card?

Well I just pulled 2Gb of my ram out and clocked back up to 3.15Ghz and gained 1000 points on my score, running the above clocks my score is now 12545, maybe I should push some more.

Just going over the scores with Easy, something is boosting his SM3 scores over where it should be compared to all the other results I've seen. Looking around, Im wondering if its PCIe 2.0? Seems to be P35 boards lagging next to Easy's x38.

Wonder if it is the x38, strange though that Easy's GT scores were nothing out of the ordinary.

What sort of performance inceases are these cards showing when overclocked while playing crysis? I know benchies give an indication of performance, but real world apps (games) is what I'd be interested in, what sort of percentage increase over their old cards (8800gt I'm guessing here) would be nice to know :)
