Vista SP1 RC Download links.

So far so good. File copy operations are fast and sorted. Boot times seem marginally quicker, although it could be me. Just installing the Office 2k7 pack now.
 
I can confirm that it does not resolve the issue with network speed being capped to 5-6% of a gig network when playing music (any sound really). I thought if anything this would be something to get fixed with SP1.

I cant access control panel in normal mode as well as other things.

SP1 is a deffo no go for me. And my PC is goodish spec.

I was thinking about trying the RC1, but I think I'll wait until the full release.

I only encountered a single problem with RC1, and that was during fast forwarding and rewinding through videos of any format. On Zoom Player I would get a random Division by Zero error causing the app to lockup.

It was enough to make me restore my previously imaged hard disk backup prior to the SP1 install. The moment my Christmas hols start on the 21st I'll be installing Vista x64 anyway.
 
X-Fi's working fine here on Vista 32 with the SP.

not really had a chance to use the OS and see if anything's changed - I've been revising all night, so just Firefox and WMP really.

Network Transfers still only ~3Mbps which is pathetic, I can download from the internet faster than that.
 
Hmm I was really looking forward to this and normally I'd certainly go ahead with an RC1. Doesn't seem worth it though, I'll wait for the final release, Vista seems to work fine at the moment.
