He is dead. Few exist today and those that do are dead inside. The efforts of a gentleman are no longer appreciated in society today.
Such a shame.

Such efforts do seem to be looked down upon for some strange reason.
While out today, I tipped my hat and wished the shop assistant a "Merry Christmas" - She looked at me like i'd ran in her house on christmas day morning and set it on fire.
For some reason, people view it as pretentious and an attempt to assert yourself as better than them. Maybe our resident expert psycho analyst Mr. Cleanbluesky can shed some light?Such efforts do seem to be looked down upon for some strange reason.

Ne'er a truer word spoken, sir. The lady is as dead as the gentleman in the younger generations.tyranus said:Show you a gentleman you say? Show me a lady first! Not many of those about these days.

Well, there's a bit of a balance.
In order to be a lady, must I always be in a dress and simper, looking at men with a misty-eyed admiration?
I consider myself very much a lady, but not in the traditional sense..

Disagree.
Depends on your social circles, I know for a fact the lady is very much alive.
Has he been on another course?![]()
Send her up to Peninsula Square will you old boy?
That's the trouble, I originate from a less respectable area and as such my social circles aren't as 'proper' as some, hence why I rarely have the pleasure of meeting genuine ladies and gentlemen.
For us young common folk, the sight of a lady from our generation is a once in a blue moon occasion nowadays.
Find a rich one and you could be worth a fortune in a few yearsI also seem to charm the socks off 60-something men too, I was called a 'cherub' by one not too long ago!
Ahem...Anyway none of this seems to help me to find my gentleman. Sigh.
