Evening chaps.

Very confused with this HDD ive got, details are:
WD Cavier 250GB SATA 2 HDD
Abit IP35-E mobo

Ive gotten the Bios to see the HDD in the SATA channels, however when i try and instal windows it only sees 131070GB of space and not the full 250. So ive tried creating a driver disk with the mobo CD that came with the setup but it says not valid with this version (doesnt hint at what version or why it wont do it).

Tried to format and instal windows as usual anyway in the vain hope it would sort it out. Formatted the disk fine however after it started copying some files it very soon blue screened with a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error.

Ive run out of ideas, i cant find the SATA drivers on the abit website. So can anyone help me out?

Thanks a lot :)

The memory management error is usually a hardware problem. You need to run memtest86 on the ram. However it would still be a good idea to integrate sp1 into the install disk so it can format the full hdd.

Where could the hardware problem be? Just trying to limit the damage here :)
Am using nLite to create a CD atm. This the second HDD had to RMA the last one, box had a massive dent in it and this one didnt look too healthy either.

Thanks chaps, youre being very helpful.
