The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Froze on a L4 mission with a friend, 20 seconds later I was in a pod.

And so the game starts again, back to essence newbie region in my velator to regain my losses.

Frapgusi is sad, and still looks like a lady boy.

Ouch.

I had a similar thing happen to me, game crashed while I was running Worlds Collide (only level 1 but still). Got back into the game and I had about 30 points of armour left. Scary, even if it was only a Cormorant (I'm a newbie dammit!)

Just started playing the 14 day trial, got 8 days left, earnt quite a bit of ISK for a newb but only got 500K atm. Does anyone know why I cant fit a miner to my kestrel? Is it simply because it lacks a turret bay? Shame as it means I have to switch between it and my Bantam in order to mine.

The trick - as I nearly found out to my cost - is that you shouldn't shoot any of the ships in the first two "rooms". The mission briefing does say "the gates are unlocked so you can avoid combat if you wish" but it's not explicit enough imo about the penalties if you don't avoid combat. You can make it to the first acceleration gate without anything being in range of you, and in the second room you have to just ignore the 2-3 ships there (which will fire on you) and just shield boost and afterburn your way to the second gate. The third "room" - where you actually do have to kill everything - they are much easier, like regular Level 1 combat missions. although there is a lot of them and they are all within firing range when you come out of warp.

I made the mistake of blowing up the two ships in the second room just because I thought I could, and when the 2nd popped about 12 more spawned - and they hit hard, with missiles. The only way I finished the mission was by jumping to the 2nd room, trying to take out one ship before my shields disappeared, then warping to safety (and docking) and then warping back and repeating this process until all the 2nd room ships were gone. Very tedious - took forever before I was able to reach the 2nd rooms acceleration gate to finish the mission off.

Another tip is that you can do the mission in a Caldari Destroyer (Cormorant), I tried doing it in my Condor as the mission info says "only frigate-class ships can activate the first gate" - but it turns out the Cormorant fits into that category.

If you want a hand with Worlds Collide just message me in game - my char name is Durzel. :)

That is actually a good thing, means you don't have to mess about fitting out the same ship when you want to switch from combat to mining! :)

IS the worlds collide mission the one where you have to run through some toxic clouds at the end of it???

Man that was hard, talk about teaching you the importance of hardners at the right time with shield boosters...

Still, love the game, so long term.

My entire PC has been locking up for 5 seconds at a time when I'm playing Eve (running two clients), not very often but it leads me to think there's something wrong with my machine, or Eve.

I have had this once or twice, had to close client then restart it. Its never happened to me before the new graphics.

Been running 2 accounts for all most 2 years.

Setting cache to extreme actually allowed my alt to login to Jita late Sunday, whereas before it was impossible
