Good mechanics, north manchester/bacup/rochdale/bury area

i know, its just finding time - its a trek to burnely! it does sound sweet though to be fair quiet, or as loud as you like depending on how u want to drive;

edit, there is a ford specialist in bolton i went to for my header install, chorley street garage.they do crazy turbo escorts etc.

wasnt 100% happy with my header install however, as the bung popped out on the bottom pipe on the motorway on the way home, resulting in my car sounding like it had just died. oh yea they didnt use good bolts either,

fantastic....btw do you have a 2l turbo astra? HE's trying to figure out who you are :)

He's quoted me £460 if it's a straight swap, + reworking of the head if needed and he can fit me in next week no problem! He's reccomended for me to take it for a couple of miles tonight and keep a tight eye ont he coolant level and the temp gauge, and if it's not losing to much to run it over to him on monday morning.

well, someone reccomended for me to give Ric Woods in stockport a call regarding some better cams and heads......I think i'll leave them! £2500 for cams and heads, + fitting :o They'll only take it to 230bhp too, could strap a garett and the assosciated gubbins on for nearly half that and get 320bhp :p

How'd you both know about that! Yea, after 5 years of broken keyboardness, I got in trouble at work when sending an email full of dots. Decided then was the time to try and break the habit :D
 
Used to frequent DC and the local 'scene' up this way a few years ago, though I was a quiet one... or maybe I've just been keeping an eye on you.... ;) lol :D
 
ahhh, plot thickens!

Scene has sadly been on a serious decline over the last couple of years. I rarely bother anymore.
What a small world it can be sometimes :D
 
I've used to read DC a bit when I was younger, and the various other sites that opened, fell out with each other, then dissapeared within about two weeks back then :D

I live a couple of miles from the trafford centre, although only able to get home at weekends as I'm living/working in eakring (newark) at the moment.

Did you have any trouble finding the garage at all? They'll be doing MOT's there soon, I'll be taking mine there in the new year.


Andi, dc is still going! one of the few original sites that is still active.

I'm just moving up to Manchester, gonna be living in a wee village though called Hollins Green near rixton. Missus is working in Salford.. increase in insurance for the 2 sports bikes and V6's will be scary :(
