Hi chaps,

Thought i'd just let you know about how you can get one of these bad boys if you are not in the motor trade. I was reading around and basically a few people have them who are not in the trade. I read their policy on this card and it mentioned it's also for the 'keen home mechanic'. So you can get this card if you have lots of invoices or receipts from other motorfactors.

Then I stumbled across another situation where a Vauxhall owners club offer this card as part of their membership! So I spoke to my local Halfords and asked them if me being a subscribed member on ClioSport was eligible for the card and he said no. Fair enough, I rang another Halfords up and explained that I had a paid subscription / Vauxhall are doing the same thing plus I quoted the bit from the document where it says 'keen home mechanics' and he spoke to his manager and I went and collected my card that day! I took in details of my paid subscription and my paypal payment page etc.

I’ve heard good things about this card, basically service parts are cheap as are tools and oils etc so well worth having imo. Bulbs are about 80% off and batteries half price as well as a healthy saving on tools. I looked on the booklet they supplied and sets of NGK spark plus and pads were under £10!

Good luck :)

Its 20% off all the halfords pro tools unless they are on special offer in which case its only a few quid.

Bulbs as you said are dirt cheap.

Things like radflush come down 75% or something ridiculous too.

Ive just abused mine for buying tools with though.

Tbh, most stores will give you one if you turn up looking dishevelled and covered in oil.

*n
Yup, I got my Halfords trade card by turning up in a Ferrari polo shirt. (NB I don't wear Ferrari gear out of choice, I was actually working for them at the time!)

Damn :( I've been in Halfords loads of times wearing dirty old clothes and with hands covered in oil.

I used to think that people would be laughing at me, but now I can be the one laughing as I walk out with my new trade card! :D

ha ha, yeah I heard if you went in filthy you could get one, I always thought they would ask where you worked though?

Many goodies will be bought in the new year I tell theee :D

Just called my local Halfords and asked what details I needed to bring with me. First chap said trade invoices etc and I said thats not what your website states.

Handed me to his manager whom I stated this and he said do I work on family cars etc and I said yes and he said all I need to bring in is ID and thats all.

So, thanks to the OP and off to Halfords for my card ;)

Regards.

Ok Im back with a new trade card.
