aiming on the 360 :(

He was, he was always host! Thats if your referring to GoW ;)
Gord especially was a machine on that with long range weapons. When I died, which was often if he was on my team I used to try to fathom how he was so quick and accurate.

So thats why we always nick your kills when you're lining up the head shots. :D

With my accuracy I always aim for the body. Sometimes the feet if I've been taken by surprise ;)

I might just change my gamertag to supressing fire :D

Bingo! Unless your naturally ****, like danny. :D

Every good army needs a good decoy. It's about time they stuck in a medics position or radio man to suit my skills ;)

Better still one of those commanders you always see in films that rocks up in a jeep, points the grunts in the direction of things to kill while he retires to a safehouse to drink Brandy.

When they implement that into a war game, I will be the master :D

Radio man lol, that would suit you down to the ground. :D

Thats what I was last night when Soulja and Wyrdo wouldn't talk to each other and I had to keep relaying the messages :D

For some reason they couldn't hear each others voice chat but could hear everyone else. It made for an interesting conversation. They both thought I was talking to myself :D

Been PC gaming for years mainly FPS but took the plunge and bought an Xbox360 to be opened on Xmas day,

In the meantime i've had a few goes on Halo3 at a lads house from work, feeling like a right NOOB :( he's running circles round me while i move about like a rusty robot that can either look up or down but never in the middle where you need to be shooting him back, thinking my first few times online are going to be done with valium it's going to be that bad :)

Looked at them Mouse/keyboard converters for the 360, Sniper pro 3 ?

As maybe a way to kick his ass quickly and shut him up **** taking for a bit while i get used to this pad.

Price of them soon put me off that idea though  £60 odd notes

Cannon fodder would be more appropriate

Regarding aiming with the pad all I can suggest is practice No idea about the COD4 controls (only played it for about an hour) but COD2 is brilliant for teaching you how to play the game. Just play COD2 campaign in hard or veteran and by the time you have completed the game you will feel like the controller is part of your hand (or your TV if you try it on veteran)

The halo games are also quite good, but I would recommend COD2 as the perfect FPS training game.

I gave my 360 a test before it got wrapped up on Halo 3 and I might as well have been playing with my feet, whilst blindfolded :(
I'd previously gotten above average during our weekly Halo 2 nights round my mates house, eventually starting from never having played a FPS on a pad (bar me being über on Goldeneye) and being toss and getting very annoyed at getting peed on every map, to being as good as those that had been playing since the xbox first came out.
I'm not looking forward to putting those stablisers back on the pad and getting golden showered.
And I'm definitely not buying xboxlive until I can get back to a normal playing level.
Any games that are better at breaking you in than others?

I have been on a Massive learning curve for the last two weeks & still feel like an absolute nub. I haven't allowed myself to play any PC games apart from RFactor but that is wheel & peddles. For me i keep over shooting my target & then take to long to draw back & lock on. COD4 is my training ground & i have been online with it getting myself up to Sergeant. I did drop the sensitivity back which helped but is not fast enough to compete online. It is worth dropping it for a day or two though just to get a little confidence back. I'll only be happy when i am as instinctive with the controller as i am with mouse & kb & i think that'll take another two weeks. Doesn't stop me playing online though i just play very tactically & don't go Hooning around like i do on the pc.
Another good Nub gametype is Cat & Mouse on PGR3. The gametype is not a race & gives us nubs a chance to compete on a level with everyone else. I've found controlling the cars ideal for getting used to the controller during heated moments.

Not really, due to the fact that a lot of games handle the aiming slightly differently from each other.
Just get COD4 and get online with us lot, you'll get the hang of it in no time.

Coming from years of PC gaming, I hated using a joypad for FPS games, but stuck with it (so glad I did).

Before I bought my 360, a mate let me borrow his for a week, and I spent the majority of that time playing GRAW - I would say that after a few hours I was getting used to aiming, and by the end of the week, I was comfortable.

I wouldn't say I was any good now, but I play a lot of CoD4 and usually end up in the top 5 - accuracy sucks though (15%), but like I said, I'm so glad I stuck with it; I have friends who flatly refuse to even try an FPS on either PS3 or 360

Scort.

I have to admit, years ago I was the same. Thought an FPS on a console was an absolute waste of time as you just couldn't get the crosshair on the target in time.

But having spent over 2 year totally console, it's definately been a good choice to stick with it. I'm certainly no crack shot, but in COD4 as an example, I can easily track a player with a sniper rifle, most games I can lock into a target as good as a K+M.

Definately won't be going back to PC gaming, but if I did, I still think I'd feel more comfortable now with a controller.
