Where did you meet your girlfriend/boyfriend?

Work. I'm rubbish at approaching girls out of the blue. Found it easier getting to know her through work as you always have something to talk about. Been together three years now.

Well I can only presume that people use the "lack of confidence" reason because they're scared of messing things up/looking like an non-confident idiot, and of course it's only natural to be afraid of that. Girls know this too, so don't expect non-confident guys to approach them, which results in them thinking any guy that does approach them must be confident.

It's not exactly complex :p

I am not the best at approaching random girls either being such a geek but sometimes I am just in a good mood and in the Zone. It is hard to explain, maybe it is luck or maybe I am more of a player than I think but the couple of times I have done it I have usually got on well and had a good chat without any problems but for some reason I can't always do it. Just dunno what to say, last time it was on a train platform and this girl looked hot, we were being harassed by a drunk guy trying to get some change. had a few laughs and I got her number. But it was easy to make conversation cos this guy was really crazy and funny and we were kind of trying to hide from him. LOL was funnier than it sounds.

brilliant, brilliant plan. i have no more questions...

walks to door.....

[does a columbo]

/holds up hand, turns round.

except.....

Your answer for someone to get confidence to ask someone out is to just ask them out anyway because if they do the girl will think "wow this guy is confident".

Logic and certainly life imo dont work like that i'm afraid. Generally its "If P then Q" (ie premise leads to conclusion ie gain confidence then ask out) NOT "Q then P" ask out then you're confident)

Nice try....

I met my boyfriend for the first time airsofting. I wouldn't normally talk to random people but we were in the same team and we had to talk about missions and tactics etc.

Wrong! Confidence is all about appearances. Appear confident and you'll feel confident, it can work in either direction.

I'll be getting married soon, and am the happiest I've ever been, but would have never have met her if it wasn't for online dating. I've met people in bars/clubs before and absolutely hate it, and definitely don't want to meet someone at work!

Lol at meeting girls at KFC :)

I met my wife in the worst night club in Guildford, with the high quality approach of my mate commenting "My mate reckons you've got a nice arse". An obvious route to c 10 years together

awesome response :)

i met my gf just under 4 years ago (boxing day), i was stumbling blind from the bar and asked her if i could nick her seat because i couldn't stand any longer

i said she could sit on my knee, the rest is history, found out a week later of talking on the phone that she was the little sister of one of my housemates! lived with both her brothers in the past, lol
