So how is everyone preparing for exams, studying hard or just having a good time?

Currently a 2nd year studying Computing up at Leeds, and as my parents are all the way down in Kent, they don't really get to see me often other than during my holidays (Christmas and Easter). So during my holidays I come back home to Kent but I also need to study and I find that whenever im at home (Leeds or Kent) i cannot study, i need to be somewhere where I cannot be distracted such as in a library. So studying back at home is real difficult for me and its a shame I can't really spend time with my parents while im here because i have to do all this study! Now i could've studied more during term time but lecturers think we are all elite and can do their coursework in recommended times and fit in a million hours of study. Only way you can do both is if you work from 9AM til 9PM!

Well I got my 3rd year (Computer Science) exams coming up in January. Been trying to get some work done this week, procrastinating way too much at the moment. Next week it is party and chill out time. Then two weeks of study after that before my first exam. I have 5 coming up :(

3 exams, first on the 8th. Not started my revision yet as I've had work to write up. Going to start asap.

Yep, you could have studied more during term time.

Lecturers don't think you're all elite at all, you just need to put a lot of work in. University should not be easy!

I only have one exam and it's formative so I'm not too bothered. Need my chemistry textbook to arrive from some bookstore before I can get going on writing my notes up though. :)

Second year exams starting on the 7th of January at 9am :( This term has been a massive struggle time-wise with a lot of work to get in (8,000 words of essays all in on the same day) combined with a lot of extra-curricular activities so it's been pretty non-stop since the middle of September.

I'm feeling pretty burned out but know I need to get into work very heavily and hard at the beginning of next week. I've done about an hour and a half of total work since getting home so I have a lot of ground to cover in the next two weeks. The worst thing is I feel under a fair bit of pressure as I'm currently sitting on a mid-first so I don't want to mess it up with a sub-par exam performance.

Im second year Comp Science, and have 2 multiple choice exams (Systems Analysis & Design + Advanced Programming) + 1 written (2d Graphics and UID Design) starting January 14th. Planning on starting revision any time now... :P

Oh im not saying that uni should be easy, but year 1 semester 2 i worked/studied from 9am till like 9-11PM, which was very hard work (and quite depressing too). I wanted to study more this semester but after putting in so much effort into the courseworks to get high firsts, or cross country training, I'd be too knackered to do any more study afterwards. Guess my problem is using my time more efficiently so that i can fit more study in.

Know how you feel! Have an exam 7th of Jan at 9am too hehe. I've been studying all day since i've been home, but its not hardcore study, so im feeling that im not doing enough!

How do you actually revise for uni exams? It seems my old tactics of re-write the entire book only longer wont work this time. Its only my first year exams but i've buggered up the programming exam already so want to do well in the others. Multiple choice exams also, felt yay this will be gift then heard negative marking! Its so annoying when u sit down to work and the sheer volume hits you so you cant concentrate on one area as u need to get through it all!

got 5 3rd year exams starting the 15th of jan. Not looking forward to them at all. Ive been pretty disciplined this week, averaging around 5 hours a day and doing over 6 today. Need to step it up soon though. :(

I just re-read the lecture notes and try to make sure that i've done as much as the recommended reading as i can. Then you do a practice paper and see how much of it you don't know and revising more on them topics

Got first set of my A2 exams in Jan. Haven't fully started yet, but I have done some bits. I've always been a crammer, which I find works best for me. I'm one hell of a procrastinator, so I need the pressure.

i asked my lecturer at the start of the year about practice papers or past exam papers...we dont get them, just a crappy set of seven questions :(
