Tell me about the Toyota Celica....

You wont get a 3 Series Coupe like that for £7k. It's a facelift model, starts at £11-12k. You wont get a prefacelift 330Ci Sport for £7k, either.

I notice some GT4's have skirts etc some don't and some have just a spoiler. Were these options or something?

Sorry for hijacking :)

Im driving a Celica 190 at the moment and love it, as said above, you start to feel like you want more power quite soon but the engine note is just amazing, Id say its the best sounding 4 cylinder engine Ive ever heard. Tuning however is a rocky road, the engine is good for 400hp ish with a new set of pistons and a turbo but for that and tuning your looking at about 5 grand. Its hard to get much cheap tuning done as the car has a smartypants ECU that tends to slowly learn around piggyback systems and return them to stock so your going to need a full stand alone ECU before you even start. other than this you can change the cams and do the usual porting etc but as said above the engine is so highly tuned from stock your unlikely to see much more than 210 hp NA and even that would be a hell of an effort.

Just seen that it is insurance group 17, which is the same catagory as a VX220 2.2NA and Honda Civic Type R

Still insurable though, it just won't be cheap - it is well worth it though :D

He didn't specify a budget? :p

Loving that BMW, easy to insure? I was about to say that BMW saloons are just not sporty enough - but this coupe really does the trick!

Even as a named driver with 5 years ncb it will still come out at around 3k+ for insurance, some won't even insure you. Though you haven't said your budget for the car/insurance.

Have a look at the seat 1.8T.

Rubbish. I insure my 530i for less than £2k in my own name. FWIW a 330ci costs exactly the same.

A 3 litre BMW for a 19/20 year old insured for less than 2k? o.0 Fully comp as main driver?

Where do you get your insurance from!?

2K ?
What insurance group is it?
Its possible I suppose, 2K is a lot to pay, but I would have thought he wouldnt get insurance on that car at his age, i could be utterly wrong though!

It cost me about a grand to insurse my first car at around 21 years of age, a Nissan Sunny 1.3 !

This is completely false. Do you just make this stuff up?

5 years NCB would mean 22 at the youngest. At 22, I insured a 530i Sport comprehensive with a years NCB for £950. Then I ran out of talent, lost the NCB, added a claim, and it went up to... omg... £1200.

Nearly 3 times less than you said. And a 330i was the same to insure.

I was 18 when I took the policy out. Fully comp, I'm the only driver on the policy.

Prudential :)

I just went to their website, entered details with 1 year above the age of Booner!, 3 year license, a 2 year ncb, secure area post code and 'in the garage' for where it is stored.

The result:

"Unfortunately we are unable to process your enquiry online. Please call us on the number below so that one of our operators can assist you."

Either the smell of bull poo is coming from your posts or as you say "rubbish" or something is surely incorrect?

*edit* I used a 2000 model coupe 330

He's not 22 though, I was in the same boat as him and found the 330 uninsurable or way too expensive.

Btw, if you notice I said named driver as an indication he is not the policy holder.
