9600GT to be the first product of Geforce 9 series

I'm really confused here, I've played through COD4, on the demo and the full game, havent finished the full game but honestly, I just cant see were it looks better than crysis, the water in COD4 looks crap and the only thing impressive is the lighting effects.

The 8800GT and above cards are good enough for running crysis @ high @ 1680x1050

The trees dont blow in the wind etc in CoD4 (certain mission wont spoil as you not seen) but its still a nice looking game esp for a recoded old engine from C0D2 and the FPS are sky high.

Crysis looks crap at times, the Island is the strong point.

I can say honestly, CoD4 is 1 of my fav games EVER esp that level above I aint going to say too much about, and I do not really like Modern Warfare, prefer WW2.

BTW the Demo level aint that hot, the Full version is sweet.

I don't have a source for mine. :o

Thank you Tute and helmutcheese for your honest answers.

What I was trying to get to the bottom was, the people that were saying that Crysis was buggy, was this factual information or down to a matter of an opinion. I have actually always been generally interested in this and also wanted to hear other people’s views on the matter. That's why I created this thread. :)

Just Voted, and the ones who took last option obv aint read any of the Interviews, again its made for todays hardware and throwing more £ and hardware at a RIG due to one game is a joke and a waste of time and £.

There is far better games out there than Crysis.

Crysis blows COD4 out of the water in terms of graphics in some places, I think for the graphics it has it should perform better, its litrally only shaders and shadows that effect fps for me mostly, hopefully the patch will bring slight fps improvements.

The only thing I did not get is why the clouds dont move in crysis

Thing is with cod 4 as in all cod games there always a lot going on compared with crysis so crysis should do better fps wise imo. Tbh crysis hardly blows cod 4 out of the water but it is impressive visualy but as i say not to the extent that you get half the fps.

I said in terms of graphics in some places Crysis blows COD4 out of the water.

I misread you sorry, but still get to Sniper Mission, apart from static trees in the wind its nice looking, by far best level. :)

Ive already stated I would be happy with HALF the FPS on Crysis but who does ?, I get 60-80FPS on CoD4 and 3-30FPS on Crysis, is Crysis twice as nice, IMO NO.

Why do these threads always turn into flame wars? All I wanted to ask people about was what they thought of the 9-series. Crysis and C.O.D 4 are only two games that'll be surpassed by the likes of Alan Wake by the time the 9-series GPU is released.

You havent seen real flame wars, because this thread has not turned into a flame war :).

In some places is not good enough though if it was all the time then fair enough but it isn't

Ok yes like when you start Crysis the start looks abit rubbish, the snow looks rubbish too, its not bad with that bump mapping or something w/e its called, but there are things that look a lot better in Crysis, plans leaves, water, people etc... I suppose it does not look twice as better.

I have went offtopic also, but have stated 2x above to try get back on OP's topic.

Lol, you can say what you want, just don't want people getting stressed over nothing. Anyway, are people going to be selling their current cards en-mass for these new ones? DirectX10 has turned out to be a disappointment so far imo in that it practically offers next to no massive visual improvements in games like C.O.H and Lost Planet yet halves your framerate.

I'll be going back to ATi with the 3870X2 so that half my games will work again. Doubt i'll touch the 9600/9800 series.

ATi may be behind in the hardware stakes, but driver wise, there's no contest really.
