9600GT to be the first product of Geforce 9 series

That does not sound good.

Why?

It's D9E the one you want.

D8E is just a new high end card to tie people over till D9E a few months later, in layman's terms it's a quick buck for NVIDIA since it's hardly hard to implement two die's on one PCB.

Alan Wake was announced as DX10-only ages ago (think it was in 2006?). It was demo'ed on a Q6600, 4GB RAM and a 7800GTX in Vista.

Cant be DX10 only then if it was running on a 7800GTX :p, did you mean Vista only?

The bit that says 2 huge power connectors :p, hopefully my HX520W will power it, and yes I proberbly wont be getting it, it'll be expensive, I'll be getting a 3870X2, I aint waiting for the D9E it'll be like summer, well I might wait, depends whats going on at the time.

I would if it went in a PCI slot, but I'm not so stupid to try that, you seen the guy who did it with a 7800GTX and lost like £200 hahaha.
Good point if you don't have an SLI/CF mobo, lol. Didn't think of that.

What good is that, D9E is the brand new single solution high end card (G100)
I thought that he was saying he didn't think D9E would be out before summer and he didn't want to wait, so he was thinking about getting a 3870X2 or whatever.

3870X2 is 2 3870 cores on one card, but apparently not run as crossfire, if thats true I would be getting one of those, depends on the benchmarks.

Did you think I meant getting 3870XT crossfire lol?

Kinda hoping I won't have to upgrade anytime soon, just bought my 8800 GTS 512MB and really hope it copes with games until end of next year when I can upgrade again and spending 3 months with a 2900XT, then getting this... don't think I have the energy to go through selling this and forking out another £100 for a newer card :P

If that really is true it could be awesome. Where did you hear that. (Sorry for diverting off topic)

There is no evidence that it will be 2 cores and not using crossfire, but its possible, you would think so in this day and age that its the way it should be going, if its going to be 2x 3870 core working in crossfire then it should certainly be ~200 quid.

Isn't Larrabee going to be a multicore card too?

Nvidia need some serious competition and quickly, although Intel's offering is going be more of a GPGPU orientated offering apparently.

Good news if the 3870X2 isn't Crossfire btw.

Nah I knew you meant a two cores job but I thought you had two PCI-E slots lol. :(

200 quid will still be a good price, after all 3870 XF is faster than GTX ain't it?

Again sorry for diverting from topic, last post.

I dont think it is in everything, any benchmarks that is not just 3DMark06 on it? I am sure the GTX can still pull ahead especially with plenty of AA.
