GordyR's Beginners Guide to Bodybuilding

I cant A2G on back squats, just dont have it in me regardless of weight, but front squats i go down so far that the bar touchs the horizontal supports, which is very off putting if im concentrating too much on a spot above me in the mirror!

Ass to grass as they say! Yep that's the way to go. The way I think of it is, would you do a bicep curl and start from 90 degrees, and just do the top bit? I mean, I don't think ANYONE would think of doing all their curls like that. Why only do a little bit of the squat then?

At the gym again today, a little bit disheartening to be unable to do any exercise other than squats, not even curls! This squat program is excellent though, my problem right knee didnt hurt at all today, not even at the start. Full ROM definitely seems to help!

I usually do that for curls. I start off with full curls, but then start doing 21's 7 full curls, 7 half curls from top to middle, then another 7 half curls from bottom to middle you really feel the burn and get the "pump".

You think you'd get good results if you exclusively did the top to middle part of 21s? That's my point.

The motto i adhere to is

"if you can make it harder then you are cheating because if you were doing it properly you wouldnt be able to!"

Its not a pretty or poetic motto but id say it adheres to the mantles of hardcore BB'ing

Thats a good motto.

There was this HYOOOGE guy in the gym today, very large build but also about 6'5 so VERY intimindating.

Or he would have been, if he wasn't wearing a skintight lime green lycra top and equally skintight lycra leggings :D

Big thighs though.

For a Squat rack/cage which would be best? I mean I've seen some going for £250 and others going for £500 and £1000 but they all look roughly the same with the same design, I take it it's just the material build?

This looks pretty good, but again im going to be looking for some rock solid equipment, not something thats going to have a low threshold for weight or some tacky frame.

Erk! Sauntered into the gym at about 2:30 today, and was told that they were closing at 3! Cue a very rushed squat session!

LOL

Anybody done anything today, it was raining but there was nothing I could do in the kitchen for over an hour, thought **** it and went cycling. Dinner has never tasted sooo good :D
