Ooooh, i like that a lot. where from please?

The OP. He wouldn't have started this thread otherwise. Apparantly seeing the word watch in a thread title is enough reason to post about any watch regardless of whether it has anything to do with the thread.

And just because you buy a watch based solely on it's aesthetic values doesn't mean we all do.

Just goes to prove that you cant buy taste, lol

actually, who doesn't? seriously, on what other basis does one buy a watch?

Because one admires the craftmanship involved in making it? Would I buy the watch I have now with a quartz movement should their be one available? If I go purely on what you believe to be the sole reason for buying a watch then why not? It looks the same and would undoubtedly be cheaper. I wouldn't buy it purely because I wouldn't appreciate the movement inside.

Don't think I'm saying that all or even most people buy for more reasons than aesthetics because I don't believe that to be the case but you are saying that there is NO other reason, when that clearly isn't true.

thats not what i meant, i'm sorry you misunderstood me. when i go to buy a watch, i want to buy a specific type of watch, like a chronograph or whatever. within this category of watches, i will buy a watch i like the look of. i think that mechanical movement watches are a category of their own...

if i had the money to buy a Panerai or a Jaeger Lecoultre, i'd still choose a watch the suited me/i liked the look of.

in this Case, the OP is looking to buy a dress watch for 100 pounds, so he would choose a watch (in my opinion) from its looks alone. i don't think that Seiko watches and CK watches that cost the same amount would have differing movements, becuase Quartz movements are very well developed these days.

Well the OP is stating the best watches for his money that come from an actual watchmaker. Seiko is a watchmaker. Calvin Klein is a fashion designer. Whether they have similar internals or not I would still believe that you are getting a better watch buying a seiko then paying the premium that the Calvin Klein is going to have. I can only suggest within the OPs budget and he has already stated his desire to change his fashion watch.

I recommend the OP takes a look at the Affordable watches forum on watchuseek.com. It's american but will give him some ideas of what is out there in his price range.

the world would be a better place for 2 reasons. (1) he wouldn't be able to wear those waches anymore. (2) that particular watch would be lost!

isn't taste subjective? Why give a man a hard time because he chooses not to follow the crowd and develop his own taste? Jeez, give it a rest.

lol guess you guys dont have as good a taste as i do

Back to the OP in all fairness you cant really go wrong with a good citizen Ecodrive watch, they have some very nice dressy or casual styles. Something like this is quite nice, plain but yet stylish

The main thing is you like what your buying, i know for a fact not everyone finds my collection of watches pleasing to the eye but the fact is i paid for them because I like them. ;)

G-shock, and in camouflage.....sweet.

When you press the button does it shout the time at you in the style of a sexually repressed marine-core drill instructor? :D

Its six o'clock you filthy maggot!!!
