Traditional gaming on the way out?

I think it's good. All this motion stuff is the way to go IMO, it's not Nintendo's fault that Microsoft are greedy money grabbers that are just looking to cash in rather than actually implement something good.

It also shows in our early example of how traditional games can work with The Godfather. I never would have play that game if it weren't for the new control system and it worked wonderfully.

the Wii may have done the gaming industry a lot of damage by introducing the money-making waggle feature to gaming, drawing in the money but totally ignoring the gameplay and substance stakes.

PMSL. Thats hilarious...
/goes back to playing MP3, while awaiting MG delivery...

Churning out sequels? That's what Nintendo do best!

There is a difference between using a well known and well loved franchise in a new and original game, than simply taking an old popular gaming, bumping the graphics and charging £40.

Nintendo do sequels the best because they put thought into it, they don't update the pretty cars or football teams!

Come on now Kree and DP, how often do you guys turn your Wiis on? I bet it's not very often at all. I really can't find any games with substance except from MP3 and Mario Galaxy - and even one of those don't significantly use 'waggle'. The Wii has to be the console with the largest amount of shovelware and cheaply made games I've ever seen since the Amiga. People are buying into this by the millions, buying games like Carnival Games, or Wiisports or Warioware. You are mad if you think this does not have a detrimental effect by making the other developers think 'Hey we can do that too, and leave the big million+ ££ games development alone'. It's a joke. You can take your rolleyes and throw them at me all you like, but you know what I am saying is not without foundation. The Wii is setting a precedent.

And don't start going 'boo bandwagon' everytime a criticism of the Wii comes up, that's tired and cliche'd. In my opinion I have stated a rather convincing argument here, not just 'lolol wii sux'.

Zelda has substance, Resident evil 4 has substance, Paper mario has substance, medal of honor is pretty good too. I personally think this is an idiotic argument you are making. The console industry is in great shape, on one hand you get superb games and graphics on the ps3 and Xbox360 and on the other a console which EVERYONE from my 8yr old cousin to my nan, to the 'hardcore' gamer can enjoy.

There is no need to moan, at all, you can play most of the games on the Wii without making any significant movements and after awhile it becomes second nature.

You also have to look towards interactive TV services, Mobile phone games (Snake was nailing the casuals long before Wii) Ipod/Mp3 player games, Web games such as Peggle and Zuma etc and the 360s very own Shovelware platform the Arcade. This is not something that the Wii alone as done.
