WinUAE 1.4.5 - Amiga Emulator

Intel had been making 32bit 386 CPUs for use in desktops since the mid 80s, so it was no where near being the first 32bit computer.

GRR VM are crap, I got major DNS issues (weill need use a DNS APP) to even browse.

Intel info:

" Later in the i386's production run, Intel introduced the i386SX, which was meant to be a low cost version of the 386 line. The SX series of chips was 32-bit internally, but had a 16-bit external data bus (in much the same way that the 8088 in the original IBM PC was a lower cost version of the 8086) and a 24 bit address bus; therefore, the processor could only address 16 MB of memory. The original i386 was subsequently renamed the i386DX to avoid confusion. Neither CPU included a math coprocessor (most motherboards included a socket for an i387), though the naming would cause some head-scratching later when the i486 came in a DX variant that did include floating-point capability (which was physically present but disabled in early i486SXs). "

I aint got the date yet, but its not fully 32bit and what Windows was anyhow then (depending on date).

Highlighted the key part, the 386DX was full 32bit internal and external when it was released in 1985.

Some versions of Windows were specfically coded for the 386 to make use of the additional 32bit features (mainly the amount of RAM supported I would imagine).

Edit: The chip used in the 1200 according to you link was only 24bit external.

Highlighted the same part as I did and it does not say that, it says: " was 32-bit internally, but had a 16-bit external data bus "

Jokester said : " was full 32bit internal and external "

What part am I missing that you obv reading :p

You are completely ignoring what the 386 was when it was originally released, a fully 32bit internal and external processor, later called the 386DX instead of the 386SX which was a cheaper version with the 16bit external bus, much like the chip used in the 1200 with its reduced 24bit external bus ;)

386DX = 32bit
386SX = 32bit internal / 16bit external

has the rules on this stuff changed recently? i mean, i love emulators but all the ones posted recently need a bios to work? that's always been frowned apon before now

Does anybody have an alternate download for this. Original site is down

Not yet , however 1.4.6 Beta 2 should be out soon aswell which fixes things broken in 1.4.5 :):)

Which is completely silly , if people don't have the original legit files thats there damn fault.. If people arnt linking bios's from here then its perfectly legal. I mean hell emulators have been discussed on rage3d for years without problems!

me too. infact, you can legally buy the kickstart files with an emulator on cd for the pc, i have that as well. it's still one of those grey areas which hasn't been allowed previously. you know, better a blanket ban than dicide what can and cant be discussed. i'd like to be able to talk about running frontier elite on the pc :cool:

i dont make the rules, but i can understand why. which is why i was asking:) this isnt rage3d either, remember that:)

I could not get Moonstone to work even with Kickstarts upto 1.4 :(. (Amiga 1200)

Even did the Extra Mouse plugged in and hold buttoms while booting to get into menu to dissable fucntions like AGA :(
