Does anyone still play everquest 2

my friend and i are starting up on eq2 in the new expansion as the new race probably, but we're struggling to work out what classes to roll, we may be duo or solo. Rolling on pve so we can learn the game first before pvp.

So far hes thinking swashbuckler and I'm tempted to go warlock,

my playstyle i like to do damage but would give up faster killing for not dieing a lot and i want to be able to slot into a group nicely if required.

cheers.

Don't waste time on PvE servers imo. Personally I think the game is not worth playing if you don't PvP. You will be fine on Nagafen and it is the only PvP server worth playing on.

Warlock is great, though I prefer Wizard as I that is what I played. Warlocks are great against groups, but not so great 1v1 and vice versa. Both are currently almost unstoppable in PvP, don't let the fact that they wear cloth put you off. Both are very useful in PvE groups and raids, often getting top-end DPS.

Swashbucklers are currently overpowered in PvP. They do a large amount of damage and are able to take a fair beating as well, making them useful in PvE situations too.

I always grouped with my housemate who plays a Warden but a Warlock/Wizard and Swash would make a very powerful and quite fun PvP duo. :)

PvE is well worth playing, and seeing as there are 22 PvE versus 3 PvP servers a lot more people appear to agree with me rather than you. The game was designed as a PvE game with PvP added later on by route of mutilation of class abilities to try and balance things out. I wont even get into the whole level locking shenanigans...

The only real difference is that Splitpaw server is physically EU based (Holland I think) and Runnyeye is based on East Coast USA. Never having played on RE though I have no idea if it is any laggier

thanks for the input, another q which is a little controversial. Should I go PVP and if so which server? Or should I stick to PvE?

My friend and I can't really decide, I've heard about PVP on Nagafen that it can be very laggy and buggy, is this true?

cheers.

Right, after endless nights of downloading the entire client, I've logged back on after 3 years :D

Made an Iskar Berserker called Bephex on Nagafen. Funniest thing is that I qualify for all veteran rewards up to 3 years even though I haven't subscribed in that time haha, nice.

Did you use the Re-install EQ2 option from the website? and did you get any free sub time?

Thanks.

I played EQII on release but not played for a year or 2, are there any codes to let me play free for a while?

I know there is a downloadable 14 day trial but I have the full version on cd & wan't to use this so after the 14 day trial I can sign up using that.

If you haven't played for two years you're in for a treat :D I hadn't played for about the same length of time, went back and so many things had changed for the better. Incredible job the devs have done.

Get yourself onto runnyeye!

Stay on splitpaw :p
