Babies...

Some people don't want children and that's fair enough but there's no need for anyone to be so disrespectful towards parents simply because we have children. If it wasn't for people like us there wouldn't be a human race for much longer. This country need more young people working to pay for pensions. My children will be working and paying for people that don't have children to have a pension.

Im not being disrespectful, I'm giving reasons why I dont want to have children. If it wasnt for parents, there wouldnt be over 6 billion people on this planet fighting for resources.

When your children are old enough to work, they will most likely be paying for their own pensions, or more likely immigrants will be paying.

Far from it. I grew up on the Eastcliffe council estate in Berwick (number 93 if you fancy risking life and limb to go have a look) and went without xmas presents for a few years (such a hardship...)

Oh I can...And did.

Oh maybe your parents couldn't write and hence fill in the forms?

Perhaps they should have gone to adult literacy classes then.

If she paid taxes then why would she feel she couldn't/shouldn't claim child benefit? From what you've said it seems like she could have done with the extra money. Every child is entitled to child benefit as it isn't means tested. If it's a principal thing then I don't see why as if she ever paid taxes then she's paid into the system anyway.

You can but that's just your opininon and far from a fact, are you scum too then seeing as you were once a child?

Completely agree here Jodie.

I think you need to look over some of your views, they are crazy.

All children are scum, hmmm yeah sure.

I do agree in the manner, if you are too young, not finacally secure and don't have the mindset to be a parent then you shouldn't.

Parenting is not easy, and not everyone can do it.

In no manner does it mean all children brought up in an unperfect way are scum though.

Well if you want to be pedantic ;) I meant all children not just the ones in this country, or are children from other countries acceptable?

Sorry, I understand your point. Its just that the tax credits etc discussion is about the UK...and you also said people in this country specifically.

Not when our kids were born gov.

They used those new fangled bank account fings, maybe we wos middle class:confused:

I was talking with reference to the ones saying their parents werent collecting their child benefits, not parents now. :)

Sorry the second paragraph wasn't aimed at you, it was a more general reply. :)

I don't doubt the state pension will be scrapped long before they reach pensionable age so they'll need private ones either way I think. State pensions aren't enough on their own I don't think. I'd like to see the whole world pull together and not have countries or people segrated just because they didn't have the luck to be born in a particular place but that's another thread.

Did you have parents? or are you a clone?

ah I know you are in fact an alien from planet zorg who wishes to plunder earth for all it's resources.

The problem is someone will exploit that kind of centralisation...anyway, people have historically wanted independence, thats how nations emerged from empires.

The computer theme of this forum is shining through here.

Im getting images of either the dude 'Warlock' out of Die Hard 4.0 or the comic book guy in the Simpsons.

Did I? Sorry, not paying enough attention tonight! I would blame my son for not sleeping enough and hence me not sleeping but wouldn't want to give people more ammunition :p

I'm thinking in a ideal world really, I can see how it wouldn't work because there are too many greedy, selfish and mean people on this planet.

And how is that at all relevant ?? I had no choice to be born but I have a choice whether to have children. IMO 6 billion people on this planet is more than enough and I do not wish to add to that burden.

Call it reducing my carbon footprint if you will, for these times of environmental consciousness ;)

I agree with the OP, babies are disgusting, vile and noisy. I've already decided I won't be raising a family anyway for completely different reasons. (finance, luxery, workload and so on) My other half agrees with me as well.

Sadly, we aren't like the humans in Star Trek :p although I'm not sure thats bad..

I used to watch that when I was younger but can't remember what they were like. I dunno, I just wish people could get along better and not try to take advantage of each other. I wish everyone was nice and didn't try to hurt other people or not think about how what they do affects other people as well. The blackouts in La, was La iirc, spring to mind when people turned into savages looting and raping :(.

Oh and if the parents work, they pay taxes too so it's not just your taxes that pay for them. Without children this country would cease to have any humans on it soon enough so it's just nonsensical.

"Our" taxes...

I didn't say children should be abolished; I said pregnancys (ies?) should be licenced.

If you try not to jerk your knee so fast and actually read people's posts, you wouldn't make such mistakes...
