Babies...

Quite easily if the estate is private, which the existance of a management committee would suggest.

What he said.

When I moved in two years ago it was great. An absolutely beautiful place to be; everyone knew everyone and everyone got on really well. If someone was mowing their lawn, they'd do their neighbours too. People would babysit for each other's kids, take their dogs for a walk...That kind of thing.

Then within the last year, a handful of very vocal people have moved in and decided that they want to change it to what they think it should be.

So no SORN vehicles, no commercial vehicles (meaning people with work vans have to park them elsewhere...Even the professional photographer who lives nearby has had 'them' at his throat for having his name and website on the side of his car...), lawns have to be neat and proper, no planting of 'extra' trees, houses cannot be repainted outside the 'original design parameters'...

I fell in love with the place and moved there. It is no longer somewhere I wish to be.

Although it is nice to live somewhere where people take care of their house/garden/street in general, that is taking it way too far!

Bliss ;)

Am I the only one that thinks babies (Yes, human babies) are the most disgusting and horrible creatures on this planet? They make me feel ill, I shudder with disgust everytime I see one. How can anyone think they are cute? They're so GOD DAMN UGLY it's untrue! And the crying, the constant incessant crying...arrgghhh horrible horrible horrible KILL THEM WITH FIRE!

To be fair, I'm exactly the same.

I think all children should be killed, or we should find some way of instantly making people about 20 years old.

Then the annoyance will be gone.

Might as well chip in my 2p... as a father of 4 months.

Until you've had a child of your own you will never know the love that you could feel for another person. It's connected my wife and I like never before and every day is a joy. It breaks my heart to have to go to work each morning and knowing that in the evening I'll return home to my family drives me through my work like nothing before.

Becoming a dad is the greatest thing I have ever done in my life. It's given me the highest of highs and the lowest of lows I've ever felt, the frustrations and the joys, the tears and the laughter.

Fair enough, some people just don't think they could ever like kids or would ever want to have them and for a few that will hold true. there was a time when the sheer thought of having children made my blood run cold. But most of the "not me, never" people out there will one day know what I'm talking about.

Children are scum and pregnancy should be licenced.

Most regulars here will probably know your thoughts on this and what you've done to remedy the situation for you. But the 'licencing' of pregnancy would only be treating the symptom not the actual disease.

What we need is better education and awareness so that children know the risks and consequences of unprotected sex. But more importantly imo is that in certain parts of our society there is a fundemental lack of dignity and self respect that needs to be adressed. If people are more proud of their lives and have higher and richer (I'm not talking £££) aspirations for themselves, maybe they would care more about the outcome of their lives, and thereby the consequences of their actions. Moving up the LA's housing list it not the correct motivation for having a child and the dole is not a career choice.

Better parenting is the key to better behaved children. It really pains and angers me to hear a parent telling a child to "shut it". If you show no respect for the child then that is what they will learn and in turn will show no repect for the wider society.

I could start banging on about how the media idolises celebrity and has devalued this country's morality, society and integrity, but that's a whole new soap box.

I'm pretty sure the open challenge to everyone who may had the balls to claim your child was ugly was a threat.

I don't care what anyone calls my child on an internet forum - if they do it in person, on my property - they get a good old south yorkshire welcome.

That's all I was saying.

I'm not a fan of babies. Saying that, I think the old phrase remains true that they are cute, unless they are yours ;)

Personally I find children over 5 just awesome fun. I love playing with my cousins and being a big kid again, especially around christmas :D

Human babies are mostly damn ugly. And very annoying.
I mean, puppies and kittens are so much cuter and a lot less annoying.

When they are older they become more fun. I like to experiment on them to observe their cognitive powers and rate of adaption.

Still annoying though.
