X Box 360 compared to PC Graphics

The ONLY reason I want an Xbox 360 is PGR4 and GTA IV, thats the ONLY ONLY reason.

I own both anyway, muahahahaha, racing games and footie games for the Xbox, everything else other than Halo3 and GoW for the PC. (only because there were out sooner, besides GoW has been made with a console in mind, i really like the control system.

I am not enough of a n00b to buy a Wii. would consider a PS3 for MGS and GT4.

If you are hardcore it is about which games are better on each system and which system they come out on first.

I think it goes PC > XBOX > Wii = PS3

I need a PC. there is just no way I could live on a console.

xbox because it is reasonably cheap and has loads of great games, wii if you like to play with your mates and a PS3 for the few exclusive titles there are.

im not sure how consoles get such good looks of the games as the hardware in them are not so good i read somewhere that graphics in xbox 360 and ps3 if you compare to pc something like 6800ultras in sli and they have only 512mb of ram and so on not, sure about cpu i heard that ps3 has 3.ghz or something 12 cores? :eek:

maybe thats were power comes from :confused:

If you can't see that both formats have advantages and disadvantages then well lets end it there.

All I have been playing on my high end PC rig recently is um COD4 thats it. Crysis GAMEPLAY sucked tbh

I do see that the both platforms have their own advantages but the PC can cater for all these needs too?. 3rd person then PS2 pad converter or 360 wired pad. For racing games the best wheels are to be had on PC. Pro Evolution 2008 on the 360 is a joke and so has every football game that has been released on the Xbox360. All my friends and even the console die hards who hate PC's as well as don't know how to use them have admitted that the football looks and plays so much better on the PC (again on my old rig). So the minority is going to be hmmm, PGR series, (wow, great game but worth buying a console for?) erm, Tekken and other fighting games (yeah, you can just play these fighting games for hours on end). So the need for the console diminishes for me as I wouldn't go and buy a console so I can play a few titles. As soon as Pro Evolution came to PC that was the end of my PS2's life and console gaming.

I do have to admit that PGR4 is an amazing title. It's just that it's only that title to me as fighting games don't last long on the old attention span as it isn't hard to learn and just about everything else is covered by the PC.

PC Games usually are cheaper than the Xbox 360 games.

Bud it is because console games are highly optimised for a specific system unlike the many different PC configs.

Oh well the guys in here that no doubt run 3dmark more than actually playing games may tell you otherwise

Any true gamer has a place in his house for Consoles and a PC.

For flat out IQ then the PC generally wins hands down. For ease of use, playing with mates in the front room, consoles tend to be superior.

Also without having both you miss out on exclusive games, for example last year on the 360 we had Mass Effect and Skate, both excellent games not available on PC and also that Halo rubbish, think some people thought it was good. Yet on the PC we had things like Supreme Commander, COH and not forgetting the various MMO's.

Gamers never had it so good. :cool:

Like I said before I personally buy all my 360 games when they get to about £17.99 hardly breaking the bank

GOW was XBOX exclusive so nothing to say those other games wont come out on the PC eventually..

Ease of use? Consoles win? Only racing games I mean trying to play a FPS on an Xbox is hell.

None of your business how I get my games TBH, but I did say Farcry etc etc can be gotten FREE if you like ADVERTS. :rolleyes:

@ psychas, the Ps3 and 360's CPU look impressive on paper as a Cell and a Tri Core but they are not as powerfull overall as todays Intel CPU's.

You have to remember something, this is the PC SECTION, not Console.

I played games on a C64 and Amiga1200 on a 14" CRT in my bedroom so no it dont mean it sucks if not 1920x1080, they were not made as High Deff machines like the 360 and PS3 are.

You have dug too deep a hole now, no going back

My system is an old AGP rig running a 7800GS+ & it ****** all over my 360 on a Standard TV. The benefits are Every game plays great on the 360 although i have to tweak my PC to get the best out of it.
To compare PC & 360 you have to take everything into account & not just how it looks on a screen. My 360 is a Fantastic device which makes gaming a Pleasure not a chore. My PC is a constant ongoing project & tweak environment that takes time to get the best from it with each individual game.
As above, Every gamers house should have Both a PC & a 360.

The worst thing about Xbox 360 is that you're not on a level playing field. The multiplayer games don't have dedicated servers, so the player hosting on their own connection has 0 ping and all the benefits that go with it while all the other players are wading through sludge.

It's pretty lame that there aren't big banks of dynamic dedicated servers considering everyone's paying a subscription fee.
