Haha! That was awesome.

I had it all over Christmas and New Year more or less. Threw up coming back from the pub on Christmas day in front of all my family. I have this funny feeling I'm going to get it again seeing as 90% of people at work have it. Air Con sucks sometimes.
 
Lots of people at work are ill at the moment, but I've been strangely illness-free so far this winter. I'm normally the first to come down with anything cold/flu related.
 
I woke up on New Years day feeling ill (not hangover) although I felt fine the day before.

Still feel all bunged up now.
 
I've got a cold and feel a bit dizzy but not suprising, been having some heavy drinking sessions over the christmas period it can run you down.

Being sick, diahorrea its horrible tbh
My gf, housemate, some others and now my sister have had it, so its definately going around
 
There is always something going around but it seems to be more common recently. Quite a few of my colleagues are sick at the minute and I was forced to go home early today because I seem to be picking it up.

I don't know what it is, the symptoms seem to be complete exhaustion, headaches and dizziness. It sucks.

I'm not sure if that's accurate because I've not noticed it, but I have noticed a massive increase in HealthCare Acquired Infection (MRSA, C. Diff.) and disease outbreaks amongst livestock (foot and mouth, bluetongue) - both of which are linked to antibiotic overuse. Perhaps we are seeing the results of crop growing changes combined with increased use of antibiotics in factory farming.

If what is accurate? There has been a very noticeale increase in the number of people going sick over the past week. Normally we get one or two people going sick in a week but today we had 3 people sick out of 6 and potentially 4 people out of 6 going sick tomorrow, including myself.

Do these only affect people who have overused antibiotics? I think I have only had one course of antibiotics when I was a youngster but seemed to pick this current ailment up very easily.

its more of a communal thing - i.e. MRSA is on the increase in part because anti-biotics are overused in hospitals, the antibiotics drive infections to become strong and mutate - intensive farming provides a breeding ground for them so they are more likely to mutate and if they're more rife then there are higher chances of catching them from others
 
I need to get out more... I read the title and thought it was referring to a computer-based virus. I'd already loaded up the SANS site in another tab to check if they were reporting on anything before I read the thread.

There is a horrible mysterious fever going around in Uganda at the moment. Maybe it has come over here. :eek:
