Yep, agreed, again do you see me saying that people shouldnt be told, or people should share that information? No. I said sueing them is pathetic.

Wild dogs die earlier due to other circumstances, wounds from battle, lack of food etc. You feed a domesticated dog on good food, treat him well and they'll live a very long time.
Because you don't want it to keep happening? If its true you'd want to stop it and bring attention to whats going on? The only way they'd listen is a big fat legal bill and being sued unfortunately - which will gain press and make them change their ways.
Perhaps you need to come into threads with more of an open mind, if we had more people like you with that attitude things will never change for the good with such an apathetic outlook.
Sir, I'm afraid you are the retard. You are all up in arms about bad stuff in dog food, but would rather complain, whinge, moan and agree with the pathetic sue culture that is in America, than do something about off your own back and feed your dog something you know isnt filled with tosh. So you refuse to feed it the bad stuff, and you cant afford to feed it well, in that case, why have a dog?

You can bring attention to whats going on without sueing people and making a quick buck? You cant seriously believe those yanks are sueing the dog companies for the future of dog welfare?
There are plenty more avenues to go down. I never said I disagreed on raising awareness, I said I disagreed with them sueing.

Two points about this post...
1) Interesting point. I agree that if you care about your dog and believe canned dogfood to be pap then you should make the effort to prepare your own.
2) There is nonetheless no legitimate reason why canned dogfood should be allowed to be harmful to dogs.
Before you pass judgement on something you don't know about, ask me what I'm feeding my dog.
But I'll inform you anyway.
NatureDiet - Contains more meat (real meat, not crap) then any product you can buy (around 60-80% is meat) the rest is rice and bone.
Left over cooked veg, not cooked with salt/pepper or anything else, just water + veg.
Sardines/tuna/fish skins and anything that's rich in omega 3, being a Labrador he needs it to help prevent OCD/HD.
Raw Marabone from the butchers and raw egg. Them 2 provide him with calcium.
I guess I'm not giving him a good life, i should take him to the RSPCA now.

omg! thats a great diet! how can you say you cant afford it when you're doing your dog a great home cooked meal now. I mean its not exactly a 3 course meal, but it is a dog at the end of the day and will lap all that up nicely. Silly Billy
BARF = RAW food.
The only thing Raw he gets is the frozen bones.
Its not home cooked as in chicken breasts cooked and blended etc
I'd love to remove NatureDiet and replace it with meat from the butchers but its just far to expensive.
Well don't buy expensive meat! You could get a pound of liver which would last 3 meals and cost less than a £1 from any decent butcher.
Mix that in with porridge oats, again a bag would serve 3-4 meals and cost less than a £1.
Go see your local butcher and ask him if they have powered bone (which if they carve on the premises they general do) and add this into the diet. Even the eggs shells can be crumbled down into a fine powder which is an excellent form of calcium and minerals.
NatureDiet is 'good', but without sounding curt, your original post mentions the issues with off-the-shelf food and you could actually do a lot better yourself by switching from NatureDiet.
Your own words were that you couldn't afford meat from the butchers. There are a lot of dog owners that can't actually afford NatureDiet either - something to think about.
No it will force them to stop doing it. You do realise lawsuits aren't just for getting money, right?

Dogs naturel diet is raw meat, vegetables and grain. They don't have a place where they can take their food to be cooked or cut into little pieces.
