The rings of death on your xbox

When mine got the red lights from start to finish it took 10 days for the collection and repair.
I have not heard of anyone having to wait 14 weeks not even on any forums.
Are you not ringing them up and raising hell.
I would ring them after 2 weeks never mind 14 weeks.

I have rang them. They wont send me the repair labels by e-mail, they want to send them by post. The problem is them getting the right address. I keep explaining it to them and giving my address, but for whatever reason - the labels never arrive. I've had 3 repair orders now and I'm not happy because my xbox has not being collected for any of them.

:(

I called MS support at 8:30 this morning and I received the email with the UPS label this afternoon.
A UPS driver collected it about 40 mins after I had arranged the collection.

8:30 they dont open till 9 :D i tried calling exactly at 9 to be told there closed  1 min later and all was well.

20 mins on the phone though lol, he asked me to turn the thing on turn it off and stuff, i was at work lol, so i just said yeap still red :D yes the power light is green .

ive just checked my mail and its in there :(so il have to wait till tomorow to print it out now.

My Xbox have been running well since last July, but recently there's quite a handful of "Disc Error" eventho the discs are in perfect condition... please don't tell me I'm heading down that RRoD too... :(

Does anything usually happen before this? i mean only today my xbox has started crashing :(

My second console gave up the ghost today. :/

Last week it artifacted when I tried to play it, and today it crashed three minutes into a game, I rebooted and then it crashed at the dash. Then as I pressed on I got nothing on the screen, and three red lights blinking at me. :(

Last time I sent mine I got a newer console back, what happens these days ?

That sounds like a fun phone call :/
I've got to call them up, it died a week and a half ago but bought an Arcade to tide me over and keep forgetting to call :o Hate call centres so it's not really encouraging me :p

I would ask them why they will not e-mail the labels.
My first 360 had to go to the MS hospital twice and both times they e-mailed the labels within a few hours i then telephoned UPS and they collected the console the same day.

Would be so much easier if I could do that. In fact...it would be so much easier if I could arrange the repair through their site, but I get an error when I try to register my console and it gives me the number to ring the support line.

At least they have changed the number to 02 as opposed to 08 for mobile phones so I don't have to pay silly money for it any more.

i think half the problem is the call centre is in the states  or atleast it was for me, took me ages to work out a few things he wanted but got there in the end.

oops!
I meant 9:30 :p
Lol, he also asked me the same and I was also at work.
I also did the same as you but I added a bit of drama by saying 'I'm just going to put the phone down while I unplug it as you requested' when in fact, I was putting the kettle on :D

I got a Xbox 360 Pro for Xmas, and it crashed once in Forza 2. Should I be worried about the ring of death?

Yes...it'll die in 7 days...

Stop worrying about it guys and play the damn things, i have hit mine, kicked it, thrown it out the door, taken it apart, replaced the thermal grease and it's nearly 2 years old on the 20th of this month!

If only you had informed of this before I decided to send my back for repair!
Well it's too late now and I will haunt you forever for not relaying this information sooner :D

Of course you should. Microsoft have demonstrated that they are quite willing to sell consumers faulty products to get one over on the competition. But it's all okay because Microsoft have so generously provided an extended warranty so when your xbox does die, you can go through the hassle of having to get a replacement. Joy!

LOL you sound bitter...new 360's have better cooling, but yeah carry on with your misinformed ranting....

Misinformed? So xbox's are not dying anymore??? But hey, if you want to thank Microsoft for selling you a badly designed POS that's your choice. I just think it's unbelievable that many xbox owners seem to think that it's acceptable that their £300 machine is inevitably going to die! So it's not so much a matter of me being bitter, it's more that so many of you are completely okay with it. Your cash I suppose.
